Goku. He can destroy planets, and that was BEFORE he could turn Super Saiyan. 3 Transformations later can you say Strongest Character EVER! Look him up if you don't believe me.

And for those of who said God, he said FICTIONAL. At least respect other beliefs.

EDIT: I didn't realize you said best. I also think Goku is the best character because of his light-heartedness and good spirit. He spares all of his enemies. He even spared one after killing his best friend! He isn't perfect and his good will has led to his downfall several times, but he is always true to himself.

He beats any superhero as a role model. Some say he is unrealistic, but he is not. Goku is awesome.

To all the people who said Jesus, may I point out to you that Jesus actually was an individual who existed in history, and was indeed crucified. Historical evidence supports this in more than one civilization in the surrounding area. Whether he was the son of God? Who knows? So hush your mouth and do your history before coming out to spew your anti-religious crap.

To the people who said God; I do not believe in God either, but do you have any evidence to support his being fictional? No? So shut the **** up.

Anyway, moving on to answer the question, I think Super Saiyan 4 Goku or Vegeta.... destroying planets with a finger? Now thats as powerful and ridiculous as it gets.

Don Quixote. He's everything a man can be. A coward, a hero, brave, honest, wise, foolish, witty, boring, hopeful, sad, curious, stubborn, etc.

A close second would be Odysseus.

i think edward cullen not because of his actions in the book twilight, but because of how many "followers" he has worldwide. I have never read the twilight books but 90% of my class has. i do not at all think he is the best, though.
