Can I get into Johns Hopkins?

I've gotten a B+ three times: for two semesters of (H) algebra 2 and one semester of AP Chem. Generally I am an A student and my GPA is 3.92 (unweighted).

This is what I do:

--I play flute/piccolo for the Detroit Civic Youth Orchestras every Saturday

--I play saxophone for my school's jazz program

--I'm in both marching and symphonic bands through our high school

--I participate in many flute competitions

--I have attended numerous music camps over the past years

Non Musically related:

--I volunteer at Providence Hospital

--I am involved in Rotary Interact, National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Forensics, and I am an officer of the Health Awareness Club.

Standardized Tests:

--scored 30 on ACT but am aiming for a 34.

--will take SAT senior year

haha we have the same GPA!

and yes, you have a very good chance. you are involved in one central activity (music) but have a lot of diversified interests. perhaps get one more volunteering thing in there?

There's really not a huge need to take the ACT, I'm pretty sure Maryland is more about the SAT like the New England schools.

best of luck! you sound like you'll get in.
