Achilles tendon is swollen and very tender?

I was wearing boots and dug a large hole to repair a broken water line. My Achilles tendon became swollen, tender and it hurts to walk. This started in mid. December and has not gone away.

I can't stop walking, life requires that, I've not worn boots since.

Other note I'm on Warfarin for blood clots in my legs, hospital stay for clots in my lungs in Oct.

Could the medication be stalling healing?

In general the cure for tendinitis is just rest. But as you say you have to walk. Try to rest as much as possible and maybe consult a physiotherapist for additional therapy.
