The Curse of the Haunted Laptop?
About three months ago my laptop started doing something weird. I'll put it in hibernate and it'll turn off just fine but at 3 a.m. it'll turn itself back on. It's always 3 a.m. on the dot.
Anyone know what might be causing this and how to fix it?

Heard about these but never encountered it. It is really strange since in hibernate you machine is actually turned off. Sure it is not a cat walking across your machine :)
Only suggestion would be to check BIOS settings to see if there is something in there.
It is discussed here but no solution http://it.toolbox.com/blogs/programming-life/unsol...

Automatic updates, anti-virus scans, defragger, all/one of these could cause it.
