Ebay feedback help please?

I bid and won a Maxi Cosi infant car seat in a color that I've been searching everywhere for. When the item arrived last night I opened the box and it was not the color specified, it was a discontinued model that has been selling for the rate that I won it for $100. The color that I was looking for is valued at $170 and is in high demand. I'm not certain if truly a mistake, or if this was an attempt to get rid of the item by the seller in deceptive practices. When I called they told me that they could either discount it, or I could return it by taking it back to FedEx, I would have to pay for shipping, and they would to reimburse me the cost of the product and shipping both ways. I told them that I'm pregnant and that I wouldn't be lugging a massive 30+ lb box to FedEx for their mistake. Customer service was rude and snippy and finally told me that they could have the item picked up from my residence.

I'm guessing I should wait to leave feedback until I have my money in my account, but based on said service and situation, I'm very unhappy, especially since I had some gift cards and coupons that I could have used toward another car seat that have since expired. I also really do feel that they were trying to pull one over on the winning bidder by listed the highly sought after item and sending the one that's being clearenced out everywhere.

Would you note this on feedback or just say that the matter was cleared up?

I totally hear you on the "not certain if truly a mistake," but they behaved very reasonably.

I live in the sticks so mail-ordering stuff is a big part of my life. _Everywhere_ ships out the wrong colour, even totally wrong item, from time to time. Offering to cut the price or pay its way back is the correct response; it is not realistic to expect them to pick it up from your door. It is assumed that they are not delivering to total shut-ins, kwim?

Perhaps they could've offered "and 10% off your next order" or some such to reimburse for the inconvenience of having to bring it back to the shipper, but.

Leave positive feedback, albeit clearly stating the colour issue. Stay factual; your pregnancy and coupons are not issues here.

Ebay automatically send the buyer a reminder if they haven't left feedback within the allotted time, I do agree however that it is only courteous to the seller to leave feedback if a good service has been recieved. Perhaps drop him an email to check that he has received the item in good condition to prompt a response from him.

You wait with feedback until the entire transaction is over. What if you don't get your money back? You won't be able to tell other costumers that they screwed you over. I was in a similar situation, and I know how tempting it is, because you're so mad, but wait until everything is done, and the money in your account.

ETA: Someone said to leave a positive feedback... I don't think so. Neutral at best. If people want to work in customer service, they have to be nice to their costumers, that's their job.

AFTER you receive your money and everything has been "made right". I would say with positive feedback, "Item wasn't as described, but seller made it right in the end." That way they still get + feedback, but you also alert future sellers of a possible issue. Good luck!
