I need an alternative for grout, not for my floor...?

I have fake wood grain paneling ( http://m.flickr.com/#/photos/47243294@N07/43332507... ) throughout my house. I'm planning on painting over it, and wanted to fill in the thin dark stripes with grout for a unique look.

Unfortunately the people at Home Depot told me that grout will not adhere to wood, so that won't work.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could use instead? And please understand that I am not trying to hide these stripes, just fancy them up a little. Also if you have any other ideas in general of what I can do to hide this awful wood grain I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thank you!
