Do all police officers belong to a union?
I'm trying to figure out if police in America are required to be a part of a union, and if not why would they turn it down? Sources or examples would be great, I'm trying to debate my friend and I'll need verifiable facts, but if you don't have a source or example your input is still valuable! Thanks. I just want to be informed before I make any claims.
5 AnswersLaw Enforcement & Police5 years agoWhat opinions should not be tolerated under the First Amendment?
I just read a Google definition of the word 'bigot' and it said that a bigot is anybody who is intolerant of a differing opinion. It shocked me that the definition was so vague, and I'm trying to discover if there are any opinions that aren't or shouldn't be protected by the First Amendment. Examples would be great! Thanks!
4 AnswersPolitics5 years agoCan I invest in a company well before it goes public with an IPO, if it ever does?
I want to invest in a company that I think is going to blow up big within the next 5 years. The only problem is that they're not a publicly traded company.
In the past I've bought a few different stocks and have had some luck, I just don't know everything yet. I would love to take my newest hunch to the next level with an investment in this company. It's currently a pretty popular internet company, if that's necessary to answer this question.
Any help or even a suggestion of where to find a more thorough answer would be greatly appreciated.

Like could it possibly be worth it? I heard they only live to 3 years so if you raised and fed it right....... would you at least try it?
3 AnswersOther - Food & Drink8 years agoHow can I show friends the cut on my lip isn't herpes? lol?
This is pretty dumb I know. But I see a ton of people with cold sores (herpes) and I'm sure at least a few people who know me suspect that this is a cold sore. I want people to have no doubt that this is just a dried bloody lip. Does anyone have any facts or tests or whatever I could use to show this isn't a cold sore?
Useless backstory on my herpe-lookalike: its winter so my skin and everything gets really dry including my lips. Stretched out my lip too far one day when my lips were chapped (forgot to bring chapstick to work) and it started bleeding. Immediately looked like a cold sore lol. So I put antibiotic on it to heal up fast. Everyday I have it, I use antibiotic, but overnight my lips just get dry again and the scab cracks and bleeds more.

There's literally no song I couldn't understand hearing was someone's favorite. And which song(s) do you dislike most?
My favorite is Badfish.
5 AnswersRock and Pop10 years agoDo you think Rage Against the Machine will ever do a national tour in the US again?
And why or why not?
I don't think they will, but I'm praying! They've done at least 3 shows I know about within the past 2 years. Two of them this year. I'm trying to stay hopeful even though Zack de la Rocha has that side project One Day As A Lion.
4 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoMy refrigerator keeps leaking occasionally (possibly from the water line)?
I don't know how to or honestly even have a desire to set up my freezer to automatically make ice. I'm not sure if the problem is coming from the water line to the freezer or not, but I also have a frozen pool of water at the bottom of my freezer. The refrigerator is a side by side.
What do you think my problem is, and if it's my water line, how do I stop it from leaking inside the freezer and underneath my refrigerator on the floor?
Even if you don't know the answer to this question, I'd still appreciate information on how to plug the water line if that's safe. Thanks!

2 AnswersProgramming & Design1 decade agoI need an alternative for grout, not for my floor...?
I have fake wood grain paneling ( http://m.flickr.com/#/photos/47243294@N07/43332507... ) throughout my house. I'm planning on painting over it, and wanted to fill in the thin dark stripes with grout for a unique look.
Unfortunately the people at Home Depot told me that grout will not adhere to wood, so that won't work.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could use instead? And please understand that I am not trying to hide these stripes, just fancy them up a little. Also if you have any other ideas in general of what I can do to hide this awful wood grain I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thank you!
2 AnswersDecorating & Remodeling1 decade agoDo a lot of NFL players get products named after them?
I live in Buffalo and locally Doug Flutie had a cereal named Flutie Flakes and now Terrell Owens has a cereal named T O's named after him. I was wondering if other NFL players get cereals or other products advertising or named after them.
4 AnswersFootball (American)1 decade agoWhat are the chances of being sent to Iraq or Afghanistan if I join the Navy or Air Force?
I'm 23 years old and trying to decide if I should enlist in the military. I'm really looking for a lot of info about joining but I'd trust the info more from somebody who has nothing to gain from my enlistment, so I haven't talked with a recruiter yet.
Also I was wondering how signing bonuses work. I know the amounts probably differ from branch to branch, but do you receive them in one lump sum, included in your pay over a certain time, etc?
