I took Algebra 2 and Trigonometry at the same time, and after that I took Calculus 1. I don't know if Pre-Calculus is a prerequisite nowadays, but I didn't need it when I was in school. I don't see the point of taking Algebra 2 and Pre-Calculus at the same time. It would depend on how well you do with mathematics.

Pre-algebra is for people who are not inherently good at math. If you are very good at math, then you should continue on to Algebra; otherwise, start with pre-Algebra. In either case, the subject matter is exactly the same; in pre-Algebra they just take longer to go over the same material.

In many school districts and private schools, there is no pre-Algebra option, so you should be fine. And if you chose to go straight to Algebra you will have time to progress further into math than others.

    Good luck.

You don't have to, but I took algebra last year and pre-algebra the year before and it helped a lot. Pre-algebra doesn't just prepare you for algebra either it also prepares you for geometry too, so go through the WHOLE pre-algebra book if you want algebra to quick, easy and fun for you.

Yes. Algebra is very important in all areas of math. Even when you get to Calculus, Algebra is about half the things you do there. It's hard to be good at the higher level maths when you have not completely mastered the basics.

Definitely, I'm in algebra right now my skills are ok but I'm in a regular lever college algebra class with a teacher that also teaches intro classes so she has good ways of finding out different solutions in order to teach you. I would suggest that you search online for worksheets and youtube videos for how to do them. Brush up on your skills and you should be good.

    i took pre-algebra and algebra.

algebra was A LOT easier with knowing everything from pre.

so ordering a book would probably be best.

If you're in Algebra because you skipped pre-algebra that would be very helpful.

If you did pre-algebra already, it still might be helpful to review a little bit.

    Source(s): I skipped pre-algebra in 7th .
