Could i have some help on opinions of the gospel from a Christian perspective?
i was asked what the gospel was and this was my reply, could someone offer some additions or personal opinions on it? thanks so much!
I think the Gospel is the hopeful and personal aspect of the christian message, that God died for us so that we could communicate with Christ, be relieved of our sins, and be promised an eternal life if we choose to follow him. Personally, the Gospel is the love and heart of the Christian message, where redemption is found for many.

I believe the gospel can be summed up in the following truth:
God loved us so much that He hung His son Jesus on a cross, placed our sins on him, and killed his son to vindicate His righteousness so that He could forgive our sins. And Jesus rose from the dead offering eternal life to all that believe on his name for the for the forgiveness of sins.
The gospel is more than the message, it is the power of God unto salvation. Salvation is more than just believing in God, it is the finished work of our justification, sanctification, and glorification.
The work is God's alone. And the work He starts, He finishes. Not everyone will be saved... but all that are called will be kept in salvation by the power of the gospel.

*** Identifying the Gospel
Webster’s Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary defines “Gospel” as “the message concerning Christ, the kingdom of God, and salvation.” The word “gospel” is also defined as “an interpretation of the Christian message (the social gospel)”; “the message or teachings of a religious teacher.” Do all these definitions apply? No, not if we are speaking of the Gospel. The real Gospel is based on the Bible; hence, only the first of those three definitions is accurate. The last two merely reflect the way that the word “gospel” has come to be used today.
In harmony with this thought, Vine’s Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words says that in the Christian Greek Scriptures (the “New Testament”), the Gospel “denotes the good tidings of the Kingdom of God and of salvation through Christ, to be received by faith, on the basis of His expiatory death.”

The Gospel according to Jesus was that "The Kingdom of God is at hand".
When Adam sinned, mankind, and the earth over which mankind had been given authority was separated from God. Sin and Death entered into the world.
The Gospel is the good news that God has provided a sacrifice that has legally given him the right to reclaim mankind (and therefore the earth over which he has authority as well). But man still has free will, and what happens with him and the world is determined by his choices. Man has the right to be reconciled with God, to talk to him, know him, have all his prayers answered (John 15:7).
he also has authority over the elemeents of the earth which we not only saw in the ministry of Jesus but with Paul, Peter and members of churches in the Book of Acts we don't even have names for (Galatians 3:5) (1 Corinthians 12:7).

God was in Christ reconciling the whole world unto himself not counting your sins against you but the gift of God is life, all sins have been dealt with at the cross forever even the lost but when we come to Jesus by faith Jesus raises us from our spiritual death romans 5:12 to spiritual life this is what salvation is all about, receiving ther offer of life 1 john 5:11,13 and this is what we put our faith in 1 corinthians 15:3,4 any one teaching anyother gospel is no gospel at all.

Technically, the gospel is the good news.
Next question. What is the good news? Christ died on the cross for the sins of everyone. Christ was buried. Christ rose from the grave on the third day. Christ will return.
We have forgiveness through Christ Jesus. We have hope through Christ Jesus.
There's more, but that's the most basic explanation of the gospel, good news.

The four Gospels,in the Greek;[euangelion] meaning " the bringing of good news" The Revelation of God's plan of reconciliation. The Gospels are the the story of God's gift of Salvation through the sacrifice and death and then the resurrection of His Son Jesus for the propitiation of our salvation.
The first three books are called the "Synoptic Gospels" because they seem to be in similarity in they're story line. 1.Matthew(Called Levi) emphasises Jesus the Messiah.2.Mark,speaks to the power of Jesus.and 3.Luke (the gentile writer) wrote mostly to the Greeks and emphasised the humanity of Jesus. Now the fourth Gospel John, written by John(the disciple whom Jesus loved, the son of Zebedee)
wrote of the Deity of Jesus,Soverign lord and God of all.The same John who wrote Revelations.

The gospel is what Jesus taught the apostles and they preached; being: the truth about who God is and the way we receive forgiveness of our sins and receive salvation. The most important thing we must first believe, is who he is; after we believe this, then we must obey that gospel and be baptized to receive his Spirit. That is what saves us and puts us into His church. Not everyone believes that baptism is for salvation, but the scriptures clearly states it. If you want proof, e-mail me and I will give them to you. The Holy Gospel is the Holy "God Speak." It is the Good news that God spoke through Jesus Christ and is typically given in the first four books of the new testament, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.If you believe and repent of your sins, you will be saved. Jesus loves you, God loves you and all Christians love you!

I'd make it a little more clear than that. The gospel is the message that salvation comes by repentance of sin and faith in Christ as your savior. And make sure the message is that there is no other way to God the Father than by God the son.
And by the way, there are people on this site who never mention the word sin or repent of. They insist all you have to do is say "I believe in Jesus" and it doesn't matter what you do after that. Jesus never taught that. He taught that we need to confess our sins, turn from them, and lead a life pleasing to the Father.
