if yahoo answers was to set up a chat page in yahoo answers?

I think that some users are missing the point of your question, what IF Yahoo set up a chat page, we already know that it is against the guidelines to chat on this site, but the question is IF they set up a chat page.

IF Yahoo was to set up a chat page on this site, then my answer would be no I would not bother joining it. I prefer to just plod along and answer questions. so sorry I would not be there even if it was run as correctly and properly as you suggest. Nice idea though and I am sure that I will be in a minority with my reply.

I would avoid it, but welcome it. What has been suggested for about three years is to change P&S to YA Chat. In that category, you would be charged points (as you are now) for asking a question, but you would get zero points for answering (since it is chat). At the same time, chat violations in the regular categories would be strictly enforced to prevent spillover. We would see how much users really wanted to chat if they were not rewarded.

Well, if you read the community guidelines, it says that chatting is a violation. If you want to chat with others, download yahoo messenger and chat to anyone. "I think" the main reason this site was set up is to help people with different problems, that's why it has many topics. If you wanna chat to someone, click onto their profile and email them instead.

I imagine that a lot of people would,I myself would be curious and check it out.They already do that(chat) however in the Polls & Surveys category at present.There is already a bona fide Polls & Surveys chatroom in existence by the way.It's not on Yahoo! Simple solution:

Start your own chat box and invite people you want. It's a group thing and can be accessed just about anywhere you choose.

Chatango is good for that.

You can add it to more than one place at a time and use it wherever you want.

There is a chat page on Yahoo Answers.
