Why Quran tell Christian don't say God is three ( Trinity) while there is no word Trinity in the bible?

People of the Book, do not exceed the limits of devotion in your religion or say anything about God which is not the Truth. Jesus, son of Mary, is only a Messenger of God, His Word, and a spirit from Him whom He conveyed to Mary. So have faith in God and His Messengers. Do not say that there are three gods. It is better for you to stop believing in the Trinity. There is only One God. He is too glorious to give birth to a son. To God belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth. God alone is a Sufficient Guardian for all. (171)

    Hey there!

That's interesting. It's true that the word "Trinity" isn't in the Bible, but that does not mean that the concept isn't there. "Trinity" is a word we use to refer to several teachings about God. These are that there is only one God, the Father is God, the Son is God and the Holy Spirit is God. Each a separate "person" yet still only one God.

So, in Islam Jesus is a messenger of God. What fascinates me is that the Qu'ran says it confirms that which came before (i.e. the Injeel/Gospels and Torah). But those claim that Jesus IS God. Interesting... So, either the Bible is wrong, in which case the Qu'ran is wrong too by default (since it claims to confirm it yet contradicts it), or the Bible is right and the Qu'ran is, well, still wrong.

Sorry, but I don't believe that the Koran is from God.

    What's wrong with you guys!

You say father is God,Son is another God, holy spirit is God yet are one God,really!

what's wrong with your people, what type of math is this?

Sick idea to even think this way.

Quran talks about dont say 3 when is only one God.

Now you talk this father is God,son+ holy spirit yet you turn around and u say its only one God and Muslims dont get that. You guys for sure have problems, no doubt !

This shows that the author of the Quran had very limited understanding of what Christians believe. They have always been monotheistic, believing God is ONE being, composed of three persons, for lack of a more accurate word than "person"

"He is too glorious to give birth to a son" shows that the author of the Quran misguidedly thought that Christians taught that God had sexual relations with Mary to produce Jesus..

There are different types of Christians, jeez its so anoying especially a muslim saying this ill tell you why.

Certain Christian belive in the trinity based on John 1;1 which is read incorrectly, not all christian believe in the trinity, thats like every one sayin all muslim are terroist and there gonna kill you. No theres always certain people with a different belief but with some of the same priniciples.

Muslim people make me so angry they stereotype all of christianity as beleiving in the Trinity, when its just a minority that do.

Then you get offended when people call all muslims terroist. because they stereo type every 1 in that group as the same.

Those that dont beleive in the trinity beleive that Jesus is the Son of God, i dont go around pushing it in everybodys face so stop tryna prove that Christ was only a prophet, we know that theres a difference your just arrogant tryna force your beleif on others.

Your the type of person that help athiest reject religion. Because of your stupidity and tryna be all up in there face.

Christians believe Jesus was a direct son of God.

Muslims believe Jesus was just a human, just a prophet with no flesh and blood relation to the God.

The dogma of the Trinity is based upon the very foundation of a monotheistic God. There is only ONE God. There is only ONE uncreated Divine Nature just as there is only one created human nature. Three Persons co-equally share in one Divine Nature just as billions of persons co-equally share in one human nature. No one has any more of it than the other. How do we know this? We use scripture to PROVE that each Person; especially Jesus, is God while maintaining there is still only one God. This does present a dilemma which is explained by the Trinity. Thus we prove the Trinity "implicitly" from scripture rather than "explicitly". God only comes in Persons whom we have detected and observed in scripture. If you do not accept the Trinity as an explanation, you'll need another explanation since the Trinity is never used to prove that each of the Divine Persons is God. Again, there is only one God who expresses Himself in three co-equal uncreated Persons as a result of being self-aware in that God knows Himself and is able to act upon that knowledge. It is God's own basic thoughts and actions of knowing and loving Himself that reveals Himself as Trinity in actualizing these thoughts and actions into observable entities in scripture. Everything in God is God and is equal to God. God IS His own basic thoughts and actions as actualized in scripture as Persons.

Deuteronomy 4:35-39 does not leave room for a 3-person "Godhead."

Jesus is God. The one and only.

  • Christians do not believe in three gods.

Let me say this again: Christians do not believe in three gods.

Why does the Qur'an make that claim, when that's not what we believe?
