Where are you travelling from? If you're from outside the EU then yes, you should get travel insurance. If you're a citizen of an EU member state then apply for a European Health Insurance Card (it replaced the E111 form), most EU countries have reciprocal agreements where its citizens can receive treatment for free in the event of an accident or emergency, all you need to is show your EHIC or if you don't have time to apply for one your social security number/national insurance number, whatever its called in your home country.

You don't need travel insurance for a trip to anywhere. However, it can be useful if you are in an accident and need to get medical treatment. Be careful to check what any insurance you buy will actually provide you with. Also, if you already have health insurance, you may find that you are already insured for this or your company will provide you with it for a small extra cost.
