How much do the San Diego Chargers regret the 2004 draft?

They had the first pick, passed over Ben Roethlisberger (who has won 2 Super Bowls) and took Eli Manning (who has won 1 Super Bowl) and traded him to the Giants for Phillip Rivers so they could get rid of Drew Brees (who just won a Super Bowl).

Update:

To all of you who think QBs are not crucial to MOST SB champions, you need to rethink this.

Does anyone think that New Orleans is a Super Bowl Champion without Drew Brees???

Update 2:

Steelers would not have won EITHER Superbowl without Roethlisberger. They wouldn't have gotten to either Superbowl without him.

San Diego has no hope, they trade all good players, it's to blame with their general managers who is paid off to trade good players, unless they fire management, trading good players will continue.

all players become stars when they leave SD, may you have a bad luck or something.

    it's like Timber-wolves.

Drew Brees does not make a team a Super Bowl contender. You really think the Chargers would be Super Bowl bound with Drew Brees alone? I don't see anyone on the Bolts with Tracy Porter or Darren Sharper or Pierre Thomas or Garret Hartley (kicks game winner against Vikes, kicks 3 field goals in Big Game, all 4 were 40+ yard kicks) Maclom Jenkins or Jonathan Vilma. Run game and receving corps is not as deep as the Saints.

None. Rivers> than Roethlisberger and Manning. They let Brees go because of an injury. I think they will get a ring with Rivers. They just need a clutch kicker.

Are you joking? They could have either had just Eli Manning, or Phillip Rivers, Shawne Merriman and Nate Kaeding.

Would you rather have one top 10 QB, or a top 5 QB, at one point a top 3 pass rusher and one of the league's most accurate kickers?

Not a tough choice in my mind.

What makes you think that if Big Ben, Eli, or even Brees will earn a SB ring if they played for the Boltz?

like the above answer said, teams win superbowls..not individuals. whether brees, manning or roethlisberger had of come or stayed..theres no guaranteeing they would've won superbowls with the chargers.
