Crookneck squash. I like to mix it with zucchini and saute in a little olive oil and garlic. Eat plain or add to lasagna.
PS - You were asking about someone using veg*n. It's a shortcut to mean "vegetarians and vegans" they both have the same first three letters and last letter, so the asterisk take the place of the letters that are different.

It is called yellow squash or summer squash. It's great in lots of dishes. I use it alot with zucchini.

That is a yellow summer squash. You can use it the same as a zucchini.

Koosa is the Arabic word for a courgette (also used in Hebrew slang, as the Hebrew word - kishoo - is quite similar). Koosa Makhshi is a courgette hollowed and stuffed with a mixture of rice, minced meat and herbs.
