Lakes: standing pat or trading?

The Bynum + Farmar/Morrison for Bosh deal hasn't been in the media much in the last week or so. Toronto would be foolish not to get someone for him, at last some draft picks plus some expiring contracts.

Are the Lakers going to stand pat or make a trade? Anyone heard a rumors? I saw that Kirk Hinrich might be available . . . do we need him? Is Farmar in their future plans or is it all Shannon Brown? Can Brown reliably play the point?

I mean, whattup with Denver? The Lakes were verrrrrrry lucky to get out alive from that series, not to mention against Houston. Denver looks great this season and have given the Lakes a beat down twice.

Smarter people than me say that Walton is way more important than his stats, that when he's on the floor the team plays better. E.g., Walton makes the pass which makes the pass for the assist. Kobe could learn a little something about that. Actually, Mr. Intensity could learn a lot from his fellow players. He kinda reminds me of my teenage son who knows it all.

Update:

Bosh is just 25. He's a 25 and 12 guy. I'd trade him straight up for Bynum absolutely. He's KG 10 years younger.

I'm thinking that Bynum doesn't have that ferocity necessary to be a great center. Besides, who is Toronto going to have to post up against Dwight for the next 5 years?

Well you have asked the right person. I say dont make a trade at all this year and if the LAkers do not win this year, then they need to make a move. NOw since Farmar will be a free agent, I say re-sign him and either keep him or do a sign and trade for Hinrich or someone cause the LAkers problem is the Point Guard defense. Whenever we play against a fast and very good PG, they always get into the lane with ease and burn us. Fisher is basically done for. He has had about 3 or 4 good games this year and thats it. His defense sux now against fast PG's and his shooting is the worst it has ever been. I know he has made big shots for us but I dont think he will do that again, i just dont see it anymore. As for Bosh trade, it would never work $ wise and it would take time for him to learn the triangle. Bynum is still 22 and a top 5 Center in the league who knows the system so dont trade him either. We just need to upgrade the PG position but Farmar has been playing great and having his best season as a laker which is what usually happens in a contract year with players.

  • This is a bad deal for the lakers. It would be better to trade Gasol over Bynum, Bynum is very young, and he has higher ceiling than Gasol. No one wants Morrison. If they trade farmar, whos theyre real PG?

Laker's record was deceptive because they played so many home games.

BAD BAD BAD trade for the Lakers, Farmar and bynum have been playing great! And their young! We dont need Bosh

Lakers need to trade Sasha and Adam

standing pat. i can't see them trading bynum for bosh. bynum clearly has more upside just based on his size alone. farmar and brown are coming around for us too, i think they just need consistent playing time to develop a rhythm. i wouldn't be worried about denver just yet. the last time they beat us they shot unbelievably well. i can't see that happening again.
