Does it take time for you eyes to adjust to new glasses?

I just bought some new glasses and i can see clearly through them, but when i move my head it seems like there is some distortion. For instance, if im staring at a particular object and i move my head from side to side, it appears as if the item is moving slightly. My last pair of glasses i had for over 10 years. This is my first day wearing my new ones. Is this just something normal that my eyes will eventually adjust to, or what?

Yes, your eyes need time to adjust. Your eyes are muscle that are now looking through something new - it will take a week or two for full adjustment. I have run into situations where the prescription might need readjustment so if you don't feel comfortable after two weeks then contact the doctor and request a prescription check.

In general, yes but considering that you had your last pair for over 10 years then I would say that you will definitely need some time to adjust to the new glasses. You didn't mention how long you have had these new glasses though. I would say that if, after a certain amount of time (like a week or so), you are still having problems I would go back to the eye dr. Also, the frames may need to be readjusted and you can do that without having to have an appt. You just go back to where you bought the glasses and tell them that you think you need your glasses readjusted.

you don't have to wear glasses, you could wear contacts or you could even get laser eye surgery for a long term solution my mum recently got her eyes lasered and shes fine and her eye sight is now nearly 20:20 you could try optimax if you live in the uk but i think there is a age restriction so if you're to young i would wear contact lenses soon i'm going to be wearing contacts and for @ £30 i'll be able to get 3 month contact lenses hope i helped

Yes, don't worry its normal. I always get this when I get new glasses. The optician said that my eyes needed to adjust to wearing them. If it carries on every time you wear them then go back to the opticians.
