I have switched my sons formula twice. He started on Aptamil, then he went onto normal cow & gate, and now we're on cow & gate comfort. He's had problems with trapped wind and mild constipation since he was quite little. My health visitor recommended giving alternate bottles of each type for at least a day, preferably a couple to make the transition easier. It might be a bit of a shock to the system to completely switch in one go, although I wouldn't have thought it would actually make your LO ill - you might get some 'interesting' nappies though! By the way, they are usually greener, looser and a lot smellier on the comfort formula - I could smell my baby from a different room with the door shut!
Personally I don't think you've given the new formula enough time to say it's not helping. It took my LO approx 10 days from his last bottle of the old stuff for everything to settle down. Because it's a thicker formula, your LO might not be taking quite so much, and 4weeks is about time for a growth spurt, so it might just be bad luck with the timing. My LO took 1-2oz less per bottle for the first week or so, and then it has crept back up since then. Make sure you're using a larger teat on the bottle or that could cause you problems - you need to go up 1 size really, or switch to variflow if available for your bottles. Too slow a teat will increase air intake which is bad for colic, and reduce the amount she takes too.
From what my health visitor has said, it's fine to change the formula when you need to, but I'd say to give this one another week or so (or just finish the tub), and if you still want to switch do it gradually with alternate bottles.

My little one had problems with the SMA also. I switched her to Similac Sensitive. She is doing great now. Also Carnation Good Start is also a good one to try. If she was having issues on the SMA I definitely wouldn't go back to that. Also don't chalk up the crying to colic. With my oldest we went through 4 weeks of crying because everyone said he had colic. One of my friends told me to try the Carnation good start and in 2 days it was like dealing with a new baby. It wasn't colic at all. With our newest baby that is 4 weeks old start the same thing and our nurse told us to try the Similac sensitive. 24 hours later she is a very happy baby.

i would try changing it to the SMA staydown, or try the SMA extra hungry.
in my experience the aptamil is quite similar to SMA milks, so maybe try the Aptamil Comfort instead, it wont do any harm to switch between milks, a lot of the time its the only way u can rectify problems.

the excellent situation to do right it truly is consult along with her healthcare professional in the previous pumping her finished of issues to make her circulate. they could artwork, yet they might in basic terms be a non everlasting answer to a much bigger situation. circulate to the healthcare professional and attempt and resolve what's inflicting her to be constipated. i might desire to be the formulation you're utilising (if formulation fed) or something you're eating if she is breast fed. i would not start up giving her juice or syrups or something like that till reported via her healthcare professional. sturdy success.

you shouldnt be changing formula straight away only because of colic.most of the babies suffer from colic.your baby will be more stressed if you will keep changing her formula.try infacol or rub her tummy clockwise and move her legs in cycling motions.burp her in the middle of her feed if she stops sucking.good luck x
