Disagree with the previous answer. Of course there are "working" Cockers, as opposed to "show" Cockers.
A "working" Cocker Spaniel is about twice the size of a "show" Cocker - the variety is still the "Cocker Spaniel". A "Working" Cocker Spaniel is a large dog, with heavy bones, rather than the lighter, smaller "pet" breed. It is quite difficult to find these, nowadays, because they have been bred out to produce the lighter pet breed.
Those who breed Cockers for show, are looking for "prettiness" rather than for utility. I've seen working Cockers who are nearly 3' tall; they were bred by farmers, for their usefulness, as were my Springers. None would win any prizes at Crufts, because they are working dogs, bred for usefulness and stamina, rather than beauty.
My first Springer had a Cruft's winner for a grandfather; she had health problems for many years and died when she was 9 years old, having cost thousands of pounds in vet. bills.
Now, I have home-bred Springers (mother and daughter) aged 12 and 9; they are both perfectly healthy and well-trained, and beautiful. We are complimented wherever we go on their beauty and their good behaviour.
Warning: be careful if you have a new Cocker; the pet/show types have been so inbred for so long, that many can suddenly exhibit aggressive behaviour. Never, ever, leave this dog alone with a child!!

In the UK we have:
Cocker Spaniels and American Cockers, two entirely different breeds.
The Cocker Spaniels in the show ring do have a different "type" - i.e. "appearance" to the working cockers. Genetically the same, but bred for different purposes and like many other working breeds, the show "types" have developed for a less atheletic appearance.
If you mate two dogs of the same breed, the offspring will resemble that breed but that does not mean they are suitable breed type or working type. Just throwing two dogs of the same breed together randomly is referred to as backyard breeding./
Below is an image of a true working cocker(top), and a show cocker, (below).

How the heck can we tell you with out a picture? If you bought it from a Pet Store then it is probably from a puppy mill. For all you know it could be a mutt that looks like Cocker Spaniel. Puppy mills often forge Kennel Club Papers. If you wanted a Purebred, well bred dog then you should have went to a reputable breeder and not some slimeball puppy mill storefront.

As answers have said, there are English Cockers and American cockers - 2 different breeds. There is a field or working line of English cockers (similar to field English setters).. these dogs are bred to not have the flashy coat with the longer hair and they are bred based on their hunting skills to retain a highly trainable hunter. The other lines of English cockers could be show or pet quality, they are just not bred to enhance the hunting instinct.
American cockers generally were never used for hunting and the genetics are not there to try to enhance or retain that quality.

There's no such thing as a show or working Cocker. There's only English and American Cockers. They are two different breeds so I hope people aren't breeding the two on purpose.
If you're asking about show bred and FIELD bred English Cocker Spaniels, no reputable breeder would cross them. Why would anybody do away with the traits that were bred into each line?

American Cocker x American Cocker= American Cocker
English Cocker x English Cocker= English Cocker
American Cocker x English Cocker = MUTT
There is no Show or working, they are two diff breeds of Cocker. You either have an American Cocker or an English Cocker that is it. A show dog should look like a working dog and vice versa, a dog without the proper conformation can not do it job. Granted dogs bred for the field generally have less feathering but other than that they are the same structurally wise or at least they should be.

WTF?? You're asking if you breed a male Cocker Spanier to a female Cocker Spaniel - would it look like a CS?? Um, yeah. Yeah it would. But really???
Why do you need to find a pic of a specific puppy from a working/show line cross? They will all look the same.
