How to move off in a car from stationary position? (manual)?

I think i've got the rough idea:

First, keys in ignition, engine on. Check handbrake and gearstick. Foot down on the clutch (all the way down), shift into first gear. Lift your foot off the clutch (slowly) until you find the biting point. Indicate the direction you want to turn, check all mirrors. Push the handbrake down; slowly lift your foot further off the clutch and slowly push down on the gas (accelerator)

You have the basic idea, but it will take some practice until you truly get the hang of it and are smooth. Be prepared for the car to shake quite a bit until you get the right combination of clutch out and gas down. If I were you, I'd get someone to drive the car for me to a vacant parking lot and practice there until you get it figured out. It could actually be dangerous for you to head right out into traffic not knowing how to do this properly. You will become distracted, frustrated, nervous, and may cause an accident.

NO,get in car, make sure it is in neutral gear and handbrake is applied, start car, check that the seat

is in the right position for you and all the mirrors are adjusted so that you can see behind you

properly.Indicate to pull out of your parked position, clutch down, select 1st gear, look in your mirror

for oncoming traffic from the rear then pull out when it is safe to do so.If you park on the wrong

side of the road and you have to face oncoming traffic then you will have to look ahead and also

use your rear mirrors to check for vehicles coming from both directions.Don`t forget to release

handbrake before you pull away otherwise you may stall.
