First date on Valentines day?

I'm going to be going on a first date with this girl on Valentines day. We haven't decided what exactly we're going to do yet.

I don't typically do this, but I wondering since it's Valentines day if I should possibly bring her some flowers or something to at least acknowledge the day. I don't usually bring a gift like that on a first date, but it is Valentines day.

Girls, what would you think if a guy brought you flowers on a first date? Would it matter if it were Valentines day?

Guys, have you given flowers to a girl on a first date? If you haven't, or normally wouldn't, would you bring flowers to a girl on first date just because it's Valentines day?

If the guy said, 'Happy Valentines day' then handed me like daisy and wildflowers and such, i'd be in heaven <3

Aw, that's sweet. I'd like it just so long as the guy doesn't place too much of an emphasis on them. Don't bring her a whole bouquet; just a flower or two should do. And do be sure of the "symbolism" of the flowers you're bringing her; don't bring yellow! It stands for friendship and will hurt her. Don't bring red, either; that's for love. You can look online for some other meanings.

Don't go overboard, and you're golden.

I had a first date on valentines day once. I was surprised that he even brought a little back of heart shaped chocolates! I think flowers is a great idea. You don't have to go crazy and get red roses, to make her think you're in love but get something that looks beautiful (like her :p) and gives the message that you'd like to go steady with her. Avoid yellow flowers, those signify friendship only.

I have a boyfriend, and I know I'm probably going to write him a card in gallifrayen (translate:geek) but I'm not sure what else I should do, like if I should try to hold his hand or something of the like. We've been going out for over a year, and never even held hands XD I really like him though.

i think its a cute idea just dont go overboard with the flowers no huge bouquet or anyting but a little something would definitely be a very sweet gesture especially since its a first date on valentines day :)

I think its really a really sweet idea. I think you should give her something that will last, like a teddy bear that says something Valentins-y on it. As a girl, i know it sucks to have a bad first date with an inconsiderate guy. Its even worse if that guy is inconsiderate on VALENTINES DAY!

Good luck, i hope you make a good impression

Awww - very sweet of you. She will appreciate it!

My suggestion - A small bouquet of daises or carnations.

That way it is not the "romance and seriousness" of Roses, and still a super thoughtful thing to do. (Also doesn't mean a big waste of money for you if the date stinks, lol!!)

flowers are always welcome Valentines day or not. I would recommend some thing like white roses or a assorted bouquet. Do not go for red which stands for love.

I think that's a great idea, really romantic and gets you brownie points before the date has even started!
