Is 1780 a good SAT score for a 13 year old 8th grader.?
I got:
650 in math
570 in reading
560 in writing
I only had three weeks to study for reading and writing, but I did math practice for about 6 weeks. I thought it was good, but as soon as I showed it to my mom she seemed a little disappointed.
Hey Kama, r u stupid, or just mentally ill. What kind of idiot thinks studying doesn't help for the SATs. You also said I'm not going to get any better in 3 years. So you think after three years of reading, writing and math practice I wont get any better. Stupid woman, I'd like to see you take the SATs and score a good score without studying, and try again after studying for a while, and see the difference.

You are doing very well and will have an excellent academic future, As you take more classes, get older and prepare for the test you grades will show improvement. Your job now is to learn from school, obtain a high GPA ,take difficult academic subjects and to have extracurricular and volunteer activities which will help you enjoy yourself, grow , help others, and to establish a good record for college admission./

I think that's fantastic. You can get into any regular college with those scores and would definitely be considered for an Ivy League College. These are the scores Ivy League schools are looking for right now...

I would say it's good for an 8th grader, but I think the reason you're mom is disappointed is because quite honestly your scores aren't going to increase that much between now and when you take it again junior year (they'll each probably go up a max of 100 pts). You won't really get that much "SAT smarter" within the next three years...
And also, "studying" doesn't help for most people. Taking the test multiple times DOES, but save all that stress for when you're actually in high school and looking to get into college.
