Can I use a negotiated Sale price for a Lease price?

I initially started negotiations with several dealers in my area to purchase a 2010 Honda Civic EX. My wife and I have decided that it is probably best for us to lease right now instead. Can I use the price I had negotiated for an outright sale as the vehicle price in a lease? First time leasing, so I have no idea. Thanks.

    Yes. Many are not aware that you can negotiate the price of the car in a lease. Dealers are usually reluctant to negotiate because they often push the low payments while getting full sticker price.

    But negotiating a lease on your own is often a bad idea. Instead go with the manufacturer subsidized one as they are the cheapest.

    Why you may be able to negotiate the sale price, when it comes to leasing you are pretty well locked in. You may be able to haggle on down payment. You shouldn't lease buy no sense in waisting your money, paying on a car you will never own, unless you buy at the end of the lease, and then they are really going to put it to you,and you will end up paying for the car again.

    Yes, but you need to realize that a lease is a 3-4 way transaction.

    The buyer, the seller and the lender. And maybe the manufacturer.

    So its possible the lender would get a better price than your negotiated price.

    That being said, don't lease. Its a terrible idea for 99% of people.
