Anybody had a violation rescinded?

First time ever I had a violation notice rescinded. Yay! I'm a happy boy.

Update:

Well, it is nice to know that even occasionally they read the appeals.

@The Cricket, glad you won in the end, that's some serious s***. I would NOT expect to have to threaten a lawsuit to get something done.

Update 2:

@ Corey.

It seems that you fell into the same trap they did: You didn't read the first two sentences. They constitute an answer, even if they are negative.

Update 3:

@ Random Panther

Ha! LIKE it.

Update 4:

@Smooth Raven Congrats! (Pretty picture too...)

Yeah,I've had countless questions and answers reinstated, but never an account.

My last successful appeal was ''Have you ever considered that when no reason for a violation is given that it isn't a violation?,since you never read these things,do you want an ice-cream,I'm going to get one anyway so I'll pick you up a 99''

Ten minutes later my question was reinstated.

I have had no success at all. I have even emailed them back on the address that they answered my appeal but did not get a reply. I have emailed the Yahoo Team on the email address shown on their Avatar but did not get a reply at all. Also I find those Captcha codes so difficult to read ~ I normally have to put them in four times before I get any success with the Appeal Form actually transmitting. The Trolls must be very sad people with nothing better to do than to log in and out of multiple accounts to report people.

  • Yes. Twice. Once when I asked a question to Muslims (though it took them almost a month to say that the question wasn't a violation), and once when I was asking what to do about a friend.

Even when I had a group of stalkers, they never reposted any of my questions or answers. And I disputed all of them, and did report to Yahoo how bad the stalking was. They weren't just reporting all of my questions and answers. They were also spreading crap about me all over the section in which we all were, calling me a sociopath, amongst other things. Yahoo let that one go on for months, until finally I threatened them with a lawsuit, and also threatened to go to the media. Then suddenly my stalkers were all suspended and banned permanently.

Yes, I've had two. My very first violation I got rescinded.

Most violations are people who just don't like your answer and claim it violates the Q&A format. I'm kind of surprised that your violation appeal worked, because I've appealed answers that were actual answers (and yours seems to just be a challenge that they can't restrict who answers) and got denied. Not that I'm saying you deserved a violation notice. Just that what violates the Q&A format seems rather arbitrary and independent of the actual Q&A format.

twice one of the times it was probably against community guidelines but they put it back on anyway, if a christian reports me it stays gone wether it should have been reported in the first place or not
