Can a teenage couple 16 and 18 who have a child together get married in Kentucky without parents consent?

Not asking for myself for someone else. I myself don't approve.

Update:

DCFS is considering bringing charges on male even though it was consentual sex between both teens

"If you are a pregnant minor you may apply to a district court judge for permission to marry without parental consent."

  • No....altho some states would allow under age marriage if a pregnancy/child were involved, it must go before a Family Court judge and he/she must determine IF marriage is called for-or there are other viable solutions to the situation. Without the judge's approval, in that case, aint nobody getting married. Georgia I think is one such state. But the couple involved MUST be legal residents of that state and that can take 6 months to a year of living in that state full time or any judge in such a state will not hear the case.

Perhaps with a court order but it's still highly unlikely without parental approval.

I am not sure, but why would they want to marry at that age anyway?

    Nope.

    You have to have consent.
