Is love a reality or an illusion?

Also why do you think this?

Update:

I guess but I'm not sure I think I have a 'love' for math but thats all. I'm not even sure if it's ''love''

All feelings are illusions, by nature... chemical rewards from the brain.

MMM, yummy. If I may take a societal standpoint, love is an illusion. What with the new "Twilight" craze, love is being manifested into a metaphysical thing that one can feel almost immediately and, furthermore, and such a young stage of your life. Do you really think that person understand love? Are the adolescent years not marked and scratched by the telltale signs of puberty, hormones, and lust? I think so. So how can one possibly understand it? Thus, love is an illusion as brought on by the media. I agree, there are rareties. But, for the most part, I look around at my high school peers and the majority is single because, truly, they do not love yet or, are not ready for a relationship. And you ask why? For society, it's money. It sells to portray love as an illusion. Die-hard fans of twilight and what not are what? Like 97% female? Yeah, exactly. Girls buy into it because it is there fantasy to find that perfect guy. That's the point: fantasy. We watch movies, read books, because we want to escape reality.

As for my own opinion, I believe love is a reality to the person who strives to find it. Love changes during one's life and so, as experiences pass, so does one's perception of love. Nonetheless, it is a reality because the inexplicable bond a child has with it's mother is one of nurture and love. For those blooming relationships that truly have reciprocal affection, it's a fair estimate that love is the focalpoint, and thus the reality. I cannot attest to love being much of a reality (as you can tell) because I'm still too young. I need more experience to defend this. But I do know that it is as much of an illusion, if not more, than a reality. :D Good question.

Love is a feeling you have towards someone or something or an idea. A feeling is something in your inner mind, whether its reality or an illusion. If you tell yourself you love something you can make yourself love it. Thoughts in the brain can be reality or dilusions. If you have a sane mind, then you can make love a reality if you wish.

Love is a reality for many...but infatuation is an illusion of love that commonly gets mistaken for love

In reality it is just an illusion, a selection of secretions into your brain of different naturally occurring hormones and chemicals to give you a feeling of needing and boding with your fellow man.

Do feel love? If you do it's obviously a reality to you.

Well, if it is an illusion it is a real good one.
