Background reading for biomedical science?

Hi there, after next academic year I will hopefully be off to university studying biomedical science and i have been advised to do some background reading in relation to subject so does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

    Find out which textbooks are being used and get a head start on them. Doing so will be helpful even if another book is used when you enroll.
