How can I recover exempt property that was sold at a sheriff's sale? Utah County, Utah.?

I was told by the deputy serving the writ of execution that to keep them from selling my children's things or other 'exempt' items, I needed request a hearing. Denied 3 hearings. Took over $5,000 in exempt property for $362 debt.

Update:

I Reiterate; Property is exempt. Not even mine. Asked for 3 hearings BEFORE the sale.

    you cant once it was sold...and $5000 is your value..not what it sells for at auction...
