    ¶ is alt-7 § is alt-6

I like to occasionally go thru all the keys to remind myself what they do with alt- or shift-alt

Starting with top row alt- :

    ` ¡ ™ £ ¢ ∞ § ¶ • ª º – ≠

    œ ∑ ´ ® † ¥ ¨ ˆ ø π “ ‘ «

    å ß ∂ ƒ © ˙ ∆ ˚ ¬ … æ

    Ω ≈ ç √ ∫ ˜ µ ≤ ≥ ÷

    shift-alt- :

    ` ⁄ € ‹ › fi fl ‡ ° · ‚ ‚ — ±

    Œ „ ´ ‰ ˇ Á ¨ ˆ Ø ∏ ” ’ »

    Š͠ΠϠ˝ Ó Ô  Ò Ú Æ

    ¸ ˛ Ç ◊ ı ˜ Â ¯ ˘ ¿

    Hope this helps.

Go to your system preferences, and select "Language and Text." Then select "Input Sources," then select the radial button that says "Show input menu in menu bar." At the top of the list on the left, select the "Keyboard and Character Viewer."

Now go to your menu bar and select the Character Viewer (The symbol in the menu bar might be a flag or looks like a keyboard). Go down to "Punctuation" on the list, and there you can select the characters you mentioned you want.

Hope this helps and is not too confusing!
