Most likely not...
Usually anything windows that you would like to have multiple users login to restore their settings needs to be in the Windows Server family of operating systems.
On top of that, you need to buy Client Licenses for each consecutive person you wish to have logged in.
However, if you want to be the only person to login to the server, the XP machine would be fine for that, you can use RDP (Remote Desktop) just enable it on XP (has to be Pro) by Right clicking My Computer and going to Properties.
In the Properties, click the Remote tab, and check allow users to remotely connect to this computer, and add users that are allowed, however, Windows XP Pro only allows 1 user to be logged in via RDP.
It is also possible to remotely access the computer from outside of your home when you are connected to another network... You most likely have a router, so set a static IP on the server (like 192.168.1.150) or whatever, but make sure its not Automatic DHCP.
Go to your router, and port forward 3389 to the static IP of the server (I mentioned 192.168.1.150).
If you do not have a static IP for your home, it would be for your easiest convenience to setup DynDns so that you get a static DNS (name.dyndns.com) and whenever your IP at home changes (for your internet) your dyndns name stays the same, but updates to the new IP...
Just throwin that all out there...
Good Luck!
