Hi, I have around 5 computers, all networked, but all with local accounts. At my workplace we can log on to any computer and our account is there. All of my PC's are running Windows 7 and I have a copy of Windows Server 2008 that I could install on one of them. How can I make it like my workplace?

I have an amp and a pair of JBL Control Ones. They are 8 ohm speakers that can handle up to 100w peak, 50w continous. I also have a 50w amp at 6 ohms, how much power would it output to these 8 ohm speakers?

Hi, I recently bought a pair of JBL control ones and the sonic signature/timbre is nothing short of amazing. Most speakers in this price range are what I call "dull", the way they sound is nothing special, one exception to this is Bose, but I never buy Bose because the I just don't like the idea that you will never hear what was intended. Has anyone experienced this with JBL speakers?

Hi, I have a nice pair of headphones, and I have noticed that if the TRS plug is not all the way into the jack, the sound takes on a different characteristic. It almost sounds out of phase. Please could you tell me what I am hearing.

How to configure network user accounts? I have a PC that I could use as a server. I would like to make networked user accounts like at my workplace. You can login from any computer and get to your profile. Is it called terminal services. I would not mind buying Windows Server. Does anyone know how to do it?

In my home office, I have 6 hi-fi speakers, 3 for the left channel, 3 for the right channel.

I am trying to replicate a similar setup to my car, having 4 loudspeakers and 2 tweeters. I currently have 2 speakers in front of me, facing me, 2 to either side of me and 2 behind me facing me.

Do you have any tips for better speaker placement.

I Have some tech homework and I was wondering if anybody could give me some names of engineered products.

It says...

Homework 3 - Product Evolution Investigation

Task 1) Choose an engineered product. Produce an evolution timeline from the date of the products original manufacture through to the current day.You should create the timeline on one sheet of A3 Paper, and it should include appropriate images of how the product has change and developed together with your own annotation.

Task 2) To accompany this product timeline create a small booklet. It should be entitled "A History of the...". Explain how and why the product has developed over time and how these developments have effected and/or benefited the users of the product.

The booklet should measure no more than 148mm x 105mm (6 x 4 inches). It can have as many pages as you need and it can be stapled, or punched and tied, or folded into a zigzag so it opens out into a long documents.

Task 3) Often there are "off spring" products that are created when products evolve and develop. Find some products that are associated with your chosen product and display them on an image / text board, entitled "Offspring Products".

So I was wondering what do you think is the best Engineered product to choose?

When i try to install ubuntu it sort of goes real slow when it starts to install.

Ok, so heres my situation.

I Have a Laptop with Ubuntu Linux on it, 4GB Ram 320GB HDD which i use for day to day computing.

I Have a gaming PC with 6GB Ram and 640GB HDD with Windows 7.

I found an old PC with 256MB Ram, 120GB HDD, what would you do with it.

I have put my copy of Windows Server 2003 on this as it does not use system resources as heavily as XP SP3, Vista or Windows 7.

What would you do.

I need some ideas.

I have a computer with 256MB of ram and i wanted to know if Windows XP Professional or Ubuntu 9.10 would run faster? I can get XP Performance Edition which i have on their now and it runs like my 2gb ram P4 with Professional OEM.

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit

When I turned it on yesterday morning it just froze all keyboard numlock, caps lock, scroll lock keys flashing when i pressed keys on the keyboard. I have a USB Key for ready boost but the light was not on. I did a system restore to before i did an update on windows and it worked fine. Any Ideas

I was wondering whether i would be better to get

- COMODO Internet Security

- Keep Microsoft Security Essentials

- Other

I am not willing to pay for it as i have kept my pc protected with an array of software over the past 4 years.

Plz help i am a bit confused

I have a Dell Dimension 8200 with 120GB HDD and 256MB Ram (I know, rubbish specs but oh well) I have optimised it with CCleaner, Defragmented it with Defraggler and Protected it with ESET NOD32.

I got up this morning and turned it on. It was cold in the room, it took about 5 mins to turn on. Normally takes about 2 mins. I turned it off and put the heating on. Then the PC took its normal 3 mins to turn on.

Does a computer run slower in cold or hot areas??

I have an acer aspire 1800

I spilt apple juice on the right side of it it will turn on but freezes on the acer (BIOS i believe) screen and the bar gets stuck 3/4 of the way.

I have managed to get it on but installed ubuntu dont know if this helps?

Which AV Uses least system resources I dont mind paying anything up to around £200 for speed. I Have heard that it is nod32 but am not sure. I Am Using XP with microsoft Security Essentials. Can anyone give me a hand. I Will Not Use Avira, AVG or Avast because i have tried all of these and they are to slow.

Is the new AVG lighter on system resources than microsoft security essentials?
