My speakers have a beautiful sonic signature?
Hi, I recently bought a pair of JBL control ones and the sonic signature/timbre is nothing short of amazing. Most speakers in this price range are what I call "dull", the way they sound is nothing special, one exception to this is Bose, but I never buy Bose because the I just don't like the idea that you will never hear what was intended. Has anyone experienced this with JBL speakers?
Thanks
Louis

Well that typically is not a strong suit with JBL speakers, but it also has to do with what they are hooked up to, and you probably have a good combination of amplification and source equipment that complement the JBL's nicely.
That is why it all comes down to how you hear things , the room, the equipment driving them, setup and calibration (speaker placement) all effect the sound quality.
If you like it that much, dont mess with it lol
Just enjoy it

I'm afraid that JBL Control One's will not give you the experience that was intended by the producer who mastered the music. That's not saying the Control 1's are a terrible speaker, it's just that they are very small. At low levels with the speakers within a close range to your ears they will sound pretty impressive. But larger speakers (still at reasonable volumes) will create a more accurate and dynamic sound.
Very glad that you don't like Bose, as they are misrepresenting everything about what sound should be and use speaker technology from the 1950's. Good marketing though...

Louise,
Kevin gave you some really good advice. Seek to widen and deepen what you hear in your choice of JBL they have alot of potential and JBL knows speakers. As long as you are happy with an existing brand, no need to abandon what you have already started. See what more you can squeeze out of its capabilities excellent sonic improvements are available. It seems you are at a really good start describing a beautiful sonic signature from JBL. You hit gold not many people can say that even those who have considerably more money and better talented equiment. Good for you!
Best.
