How do you guard someone who is bigger than you?
Yesterday the basketball team I coach lost the regular season championship because a big kid on the other team was always getting baskets by shooting over us. Our tallest guy was having a lot of trouble guarding him. Double teams weren't working too well either. Any tips on how to pressure him?

Well, sometimes stuff like that happens. The best you can really do is play awesome defense. First if you're a righty have your right hand cover the players face. Left hand for leftys etc. If you cannot reach his face, get as close as possible. Then with the other hand guard him by putting your arm out left or right of your hip, depending on whether the player is a left or right handed player. You get it? The point of this is to block out the players vision and force him to pass the ball, or if he tried to drive it in, he will have to go to his weak side because you got him covered on his strong side.

What variety of land/backyard to you might have? If you might have a couple of acres, you then will have to seem into the cattle dad or mum breeds--they are quality. Knowing what your way of life and puppy heritage is like will aid us pin-factor a few breeds for you =) I agree that you simply are not looking for a Doberman Pincher....they want an excessive amount of stimulation and paintings for so much individuals to reside with. WAY too sensible for his or her possess well lol I have no idea why you're in opposition to German Shepherds. They're each bit as pleasant as Labs, however have a higher protecting intuition. In reality, I do not believe I've ever met a median Shepherd in my existence. Even the puppies who've been abused and mistreated will pop out being splendid candy. You simply ought to understand how to instruct fundamental instructions, and deliver tons of excercise. They're REALLY well household puppies, and are GREAT look after puppies whilst. I'd deliver them a shot. Mastiffs are colossal, and as a consequence intimidating as a result of dimension....however so are Great Danes (which don't seem to be a foul proposal, btw). They could intimidate individuals with their dimension, however will not often be a well look after puppy. They're severe sofa potatoes!! St. Bernards are simply cuddly.. finish of tale. And additionally they will sling gobs of snot all over the place your partitions and ceiling, and can shed hair certainly far and wide. It will actually flow via the air normally. lol I love the way in which they seem, however that variety of a large number might force me loopy!

Play physical, not dirty. Annoy and irritate him. Cause him problems. He will lose focus and you will get in his head. Also when he shoots jump straight up not at him. Shuffle your feet, so he cannot blow past you. Don't double team the guy. I would have one guy on him and force him to a corner and trap him. Or force him to pass. Keep him from moving closer. play right up to him. make him take bad shots. Have one defender down low provide help defense.

Alright, you want to make sure you double team him, and pounce on the ball if "the big guy on the other team" ever brings it down. Make sure you use a player thats guarding a non-shooter/threat to double team the big guy, but make sure you box out, so you can secure possession after only one shot.

play dirty without getting caught. Annoy him and get in his head. Make him make mistakes by being in his head.
