Is it likely that Venice California will become more gentrified in the next 10 years or so?

Will it always have kind of an artistic/hippie vibe or will it get run down with yuppies?

Gentrification of Venice happened a long time ago. A tiny one bedroom home (600 sq ft) with a 200 sq ft loft (rents for $1500) goes for $1.2 mil or more about a block from the beach. You tell me who lives in Venice at those prices? How about artistic undercover yuppies. Lots of people who live there are actually trust fund babies, attorneys, doctors, etc, that while they may not look like what some people think of as well off when you see them walking on the beach, their bank accounts say something different. Especially if they live in a $2+ mil beach front or canal home. Lots of the cheaper run down apt buildings are going, lots of plans for upgrading and building nice homes in the area, and upgrading commercial establishments.

Venice will always have an artistic/hippie vibe!
