Is this a funny or a bad Christian joke?

Ha ha. Pretty good, I don't think you will go to hell for telling a joke. Everyone needs a good laugh, I'm a Christian and I liked that one. Laughing at youself is good for you

As a joke it's meh, not laugh out loud funny but I can see where the punchline is supposed to come from.

As theology it's pretty meh too --- Romans 6:1 brings up this very "trick," basically saying there are no "loopholes" with God. :-) So nice try but been done before.

But it's accurate in saying God doesn't work that way. We pray to align our will with God's. He isn't Santa Claus and He doesn't slip us blessings like a kind grandparent would... He's more like a parent, giving us what we need rather than giving us what we want. Sometimes that means He provides what we asked for, but most often He has much better plans in store for us. The question is whether we'll let Him guide us into those things.

It's a bit of both! Relax though, I believe God has a sense of humour. Mind you if the joke was meant in spite or out of pure sacrilege then well....

It's not bad, because that is how Christianity works. All the kids at my church are A-holes (but it's okay because god will forgive them)
