Cold water never works well for anything unless you wash it for a very long period of time (I saw a study on it). I've tried Tide to Go on an old blood stained mattress and it did a pretty good job. I wish I could throw it in the washing machine b/c I think it would have come out completely. I have found Tide to Go one of the best stain removers. It comes in a small pen, but I still use it on my clothes before I throw them into the wash, plus you can put it in your purse for emergencies.

hmm did you air dry the pillow case or put the pillow case in the dryer? Hopefully, you aired dried it. However there still might be hope. There is a spray oxi clean stain remover that supposedly gets out set in stains. Spray the blood spot with it- then let it sit for an hour. WASH IT... see what happens. When I get any kind of blood on carpet or clothing I use POWDER oxi clean found in the laundry isle at the supermarket... it works like a charm. Next time you get blood on something try that. Oxi clean never fails me when it comes to blood that has just been depostied on clothing.

With blood you're going to have to get a stain cleaner (best thing I've used is "Simple Solution" a pet stain and oder remover. I have pets but I started using this stuff on stains from YEARS ago stuck into my carpets. From spilling things on it, and other things the pets didn't even make!) just put it on the stain, not to much but put alot on it (the bottle makes it easy to make it proportional) and let it sit ... wipe it gentally, and if it doesn't come out the first time (since its white and all) do it again, but scrub hard the second time. That REALLY gets the stain out. If its been there a long time (like the stains in my carpet) then rub hard, this pet stuff is a life saver! My step-dad goes hunting so when I need to get rid of the stain I use this simple solution for his clothes. Its at a local petsmart and really works. ^^

the bottle is going to look like this --- http://s3.amazonaws.com/tc-photos/11442/product/st...

I can't find the actual picture of the SIMPLE SOLUTIONS bottle, but the bottle will look like that. ^^

    ~Good luck!

All I can suggest is leaving it in a pail of cold water with nothing added for several days. You can change the water now and again. That works with fresh blood stains. If it is white you could try boiling it in a big pot or using bleach.

Use bleach on it...If your pillow case is colored, use bleach that is for colored cloth.
