Who is an underrated defensemen?

paul mara is a solid 2nd pair guy that no one talks about. dan girardi is awesome, im not sure how underrated he is because most of the press i read is rangers stuff, but i feel like people don't talk about him that much. willie mitchell on vancouver. in addition to andy greene, paul martin in NJ: he's their top guy, but no one talks about him for some reason. francois boullion.

but i think the most underrated in the league is barret jackman from the blues. top shutdown defenseman, and very physical. he just doesn't have that much offense, so no one really talks about him.

have to say my boy keith yandle (no homer) he is going to be a star very soon though. but unless you're a dog fan you've probbly never heard of the guy even though he is a excellent puck moving offensive d man. 10-20-30, +11, 2 GWG.

Doughty for LA.... seems that the media and fans are picking up on him though

and I wouldn't say underrated, but I think the sens Karlsson will be a good one.

Tim Gleason: can lay the hit, can make a good defensive play, can fight, sticks up for his teammates, and is starting to find his shot.
