How long did it take to house train your puppy?

How long was it before you got your dog house-trained?

Ours took 1.5 months.

Oh by the way, this is the last time I'll ever post on this site.

I can't freaking stand it anymore.

So many people are so freaking demented and nasty and rude, and I am choosing NOT to partake in this bull crap anymore.

I would just like to thank everyone (my contacts) for answering my questions about our dogs for the past couple months. You were all so helpful and I appreciate it so much!

K bye.

Update:

Driftway - your dog probably won't get to be house trained for another couple of months, just be very consistent in taking him outside regularly to go to the bathroom and keep him on a feeding schedule. Also be sure he has a crate that is the proper size so that he won't want to pee or poop in his bedding.

Update 2:

Snickers and Sassy can pull the sticks out of their a$ses now.

I am not calling everyone here demented and whatnot, I am saying several people are, and that is WHY I am leaving - I said that so my contacts would know why I am leaving instead of me randomly leaving, got it?

Seriously it's people like you two who make this site a displeasure.

Screw you.

    I don't remember. A month or 2?

Don't pay attention to the ignorant people on this site. I mean look at the maturity level of some of them - repeating what you say and then saying "Good, leave! And you're not invited to my birthday party!" LOL

Seriously ignore it. Ask Bells how many times I have sent her my "hate mail" and the extra HIGHlarious answers I give back. I look at hate mail as badges of honor. I could care less what people on the internet think about me or if they think I'm satan because I disagree with them - if they have nothing better to do than waste time during the day emailing me about how awful I am...think about the grand scheme of things...I would say that my life is way more meaningful than theirs since I have never wasted a second emailing people I don't know to tell them how much I hate them.

Same goes for the followers - they follow you around on this site to give you TDs or to argue with you on purpose. They are just sheep that need someone to follow, and if I have to take on the roll as their shepherd - then so be it, someone has to do it! LMAO

    Wow, I am jealous!

My dog was doing 'pretty good' at house training by 6 months, by 8 months I think I could really trust her.

You guys were lucky with only a month or two of house training!

*note: I used the crate to train from day one and didn't have many accidents because I didn't give her the opportunity to. It was continuous work but has paid off. Lots of basset owners I talk to say it took upwards of a year so I thought I did pretty good.

I agree that there is too much drama on this site but I think there is lots of useful information as well. It's like everything on the net now, the hardest part is sorting out the facts from the garbage people spew.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://bitly.im/aM94P

A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

it may take a while and distinctive consistent training until eventually she's a hundred% housebroken. whether you think of she already "knows what's envisioned," she's nonetheless a puppy and he or she will have injuries. now and lower back diverse breeds variety in how long it takes to housebreak. i do no longer recognize what that's for labs, yet i recognize boxers tend to take longer than others, commonly approximately 6 months until eventually you haven't any longer any injuries in any respect anymore. Consistency in beneficial training strategies will help.

o_O Leave and miss all the fun?!

I look at it as a part of the whole Yahoo experience :)

Legit: Housebreaking...he really never messed in the house since we've had him (9weeks old). First day he ran upstairs and did his thing there....after that upstairs was blocked and he didnt mess anywhere downstairs. I took him out every hour or so.

When we moved...he did the same thing...ran upstairs and did his thing...but that's the only times I remember.

Oh, and he pooped in the bathtub recently. I leave him in the bathroom when I'm at work. (He graduated there from his crate). He had an upset stomach and apparently couldnt hold it until we got home. So he went INSIDE the tub...lmao...so sweet of him, aint it?

    WOW! OK......

It took us 7 days for our 7 week old puppy to start going to the door. 14 days for her to make it all the way to the grass. Of course there were a few accidents here and there. But, for me to feel completely comfortable with her potty training probably about 2 months.

Who cares? It's just the internet, not real life.
