Movies that taught lessons?

What are some movies that taught lessons?

For me, it's:

The Lion King:

Instead of running from the past, learn from it.

The Wizard of Oz:

Allow yourself to dream

and

Back to the Future:

Always take an extra shot of plutonium when cranking up to 88 miles per hour

Update:

Oh, and how could I forget?

Yellow Submarine:

With love, anything is possible

Well there's Mulan, of course, which teaches that women are just as useful as men, and that family is extremely important. Mulan saved the emperor and her entire country when she took her father's place as a soldier in the war.

Lilo and Stitch: "Family means no one gets left behind, or forgotten".--Lilo.

Pocahontas : 1. Violence does not solve our problems and 2. Just because people look different or have different customs from others does not mean that they do not deserve to be treated equally. Everyone is equally special, just in different ways.

The movie that taught me the best lessons was The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

Some things that I was taught from this movie are:

Love will always return to you.

Do not give up on your dreams.

Everyone is special in some way.

I'm with you on Lion King.

Harry Potter: Love is the most powerful force and is dangerous and helpful. It can never be overpowered.

Narnia: Sometimes it's what you least expect that helps you the most.

Ratatouille: Believe in yourself and Look past what someone or something might be and look to their achievements.

    Transformers: Believe in Yourself

Twilight: Do what you shall for love. Also, Vampires sparkling are SMOKIN' HOT!

    Here's two of my favorites:

-Disney's Meet the Robinsons.."Keep moving forward!" Dream big and learn from your mistakes!

-What's Love Got To Do With It?".. Just cause it looks and sounds good, doesnt mean it's good for you! Listen to your instincts and dont let history repeat itself! (Especially when it comes to crazy *** men!)

Milk (2008)- great adaptation of a true story, inspiring, Sean Penn and Josh Brolin are absolutely amazing (so is James Franco), Oscar-winning, a story of hope.

    Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjgc_fef-%E2%80%A6

"There is hope for anything...you just need to pursue it with all your heart"

The Dark Knight (2008)- don't worry, I'm not a huge fan of Batman, but this film is absolutely great. I haven't even seen the first two Batman movies, but it didn't even matter. The plot is perfect, the action is suspensful and thrilling, Heath Ledger was absolutely phenomenal in his role as The Joker. Every time there was a scene change, I would hope he'd be on screen because his role is just so creepy and flatout crazy. The movie takes turns you don't see coming and the whole thing is a masterpiece.

    Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KGFG-PhP%E2%80%A6

"There are good and evil forces in the world [war, violence, etc] but good will ultimately overcome evil, even if it is hard to distinguish between the good and evil at times."

Where the Wild Things Are (2009)- surprisingly deep, VERY artistic, very real about childhood emotions (doesn't sugar-coat them), great soundtrack, speaks to the heart about the spirit of youth, perfect ending (in my opinion), visually captivating, one of my best movie picks for 2009

A.O. Scott said, "There are so many books and movies out there aimed at children, but only a few that really get it: how kids think and what they feel. Part of the reason is that grown-ups don't want to acknowledge that children, just like everyone else, can be angry, sad, destructive, and confused. We'd prefer to see them as sweet and innocent. The great author and illustrator Maurice Sendak had no such allusions and his masterpiece 'Where the Wild Things Are' celebrates childhood in all its unruly glory...This is a movie that you should see, and then see it again." This is this critic's pick for best movie for 2009, and mine too.

"Childhood is a precious thing that should not be ignored or dismissed. Children have real feelings that are often clearer and more sensible than those of adults. There are 'Wild Things' in each of us and we just need to learn how to handle them, not how to suppress them."

Harold and Maude (1971)- honestly it's a little weird, great quotes, a dark comedy with a sad but fulfilling ending that makes you feel happy and sad at the same time, great soundtrack (Cat Stevens), hilarious in an odd way, great story. But again, very weird and kind of odd. This is not a stupid comedy by any means, but rather a great story about life and death, full of funny moments. It is a really odd movie to try to describe but easily one of my all-time favortites. Please see it, although like I said you will see that it is odd within the first five minutes but just keep watching. Made me cry a bit at the end. This is a great story, it really is. It makes you think deeply as you roll on the floor laughing, and leaves you with a really great message and feel. In the end, it is a feel-good, quirky, hilarious and heartfelt movie. The perfect combo. Strongly recommend this one.

"Love sees no age boundary. The most unlikely people can be the ones to save you emotionally, physically, or spiritually. Government is not always moral; think on your own and follow your own conscience in making your moral decisions."

No Country for Old Men (2007)- suspensful, visually captivating, a bit bloody, thrilling, a bit confusing so you have to really pay attention throughout the film and you may need to see it again to understand it better, gives you chills, great acting by Tommy Lee Jones, Josh Brolin, and especially Javier Bardem, perfectly put together, great quotes, Oscar-winning

    Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YBqmKSAHc%E2%80%A6

"You 'can't stop what's coming [quote from the movie]' and no one can predict what will happen in the future. You cannot stop fate from ocurring. The criminals can and do walk away from their messes sometimes, and that is just how life works out. Change is a hard thing to deal with."

The Usual Suspects (1995)- Such a great movie. It is a crime mystery story with a major plot twist at the end. Definitely a movie you need to watch, then watch it again because it is pretty trippy. Kevin Spacey won an Oscar for his role in this movie. This movie keeps you thinking, as not only the investigators try to figure out what happened, but so do you. Creatively crafted and masterfully put together. Don't worry, there are also a few moments of comic relief. And it's only about an hour, 45 minutes.

    Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VPuXWtDx%E2%80%A6

"Never trust someone based solely on their appearance. What is on the outside may simply be a facade."
