Question concerning survey/poll legalities/regulations?

What are the regulations and legalities concerning phone surveys? Specifically, is the survey company legally required to disclose who's paying for the survey when asked? Also, if you could link to your source, it would be nice.

    Actually, I don't know if they are required to do so...but the ones that have called me do give me the name of the polling service that is calling. They don't tell me who hired them however.
