What if question about wrestlers?
What if certain wrestlers didn't go by their new name? For example, would Shawn Michaels be just as famous if he went by his real name, Michael Shawn Hickenbottom. So THE SHOWSTOPPER, THE ICON, THE MAIN EVENT, THE HEART BREAK KID: HICKENBOTTOM!!! You get the idea. So I guess the big question is, would these wrestlers still be famous if they went by their real names. And if yes. Would their career be different?
Here are some Examples:
HBK: Michael Shawn Hickenbottom.
Jericho: Chris Irvine (would jericholics still exist)
Hulk Hogan = Terry Bollea (No Hulk-a-mania)
Kane= Glen Jacobs
Rey Mysterio Jr. = Oscar Gutierrez (changed his name after the original Rey Mysterio)
Randy Orton = Randal (could be a big deal)
HHH= Paul Michael Levesque (PML?)
Christian: Jason Reso
Edge: Adam Copeland
Just to name a few. If you know more guys that had totally different names then their gimmick in wrestling, feel free to add, but try to answer the question first. Personal thoughts?
Um. To Good Cat. I have only asked 6 questions so far since I joined yahoo answers and I have only asked this once as a BQ. So I think you either have me mixed up with someone else or you meant to say that this question has been asked many times by others. I have not seen this question come up yet, so I asked. So yeah. Thats all.

It is funny to think about. Especially since I don't see things like "Terry-a-Mania" catching on with the fans. But I would still be a Irvine-o-holic.

Michael Shawn Hickenbottom would be called "The Hickey" and be pretty much the same.
Jericho: Chris Irvine would be submitted to chants of "Irrrvine,Irrrvine".
Hulk Hogan = Terry Bollea would be drastically changed.He'd go from Icon to "mob enforcer" like Vito.
Kane= Glen Jacobs is a grim name,so it works just as well as Kane.
Rey Mysterio Jr. = Oscar Gutierrez.Oscar would work just as well as Rey,but he might seem grouchier (Ha ha)
Randy Orton = Randal.No change at all.
HHH= Paul Michael Levesque.Same character as Hunter's blue blood character.
Christian: Jason Reso.No change.
Edge: Adam Copeland.Can stll be called "The edge".
