How do I get rid of the nausea feeling from pain killer medicines?
So I've been having a horrible jaw pain on my right jaw, due to me needing to get my wisdom teeth removed, and I've been having swelling under my jaw. So I have been taking Cleocin, it's an antibiotic for the swelling, and also Hydrocodone, and Darvocet for the pain. Now I've been told that some people cant handle medicines that have Codine in them because it makes them dizzy and nauseated. So I'm wondering, is there any other way I can prevent nausea after taking these medicines, or should I just try medicines that done have codine in them? Either way it goes I have to take something until I get the wisdom teeth removed. Please give me some advice. Thanks!

Hydrocodone is well known to cause nausea. As much as you probably don't feel like eating, it's probably the best way to help ease your nausea. Try something non-dairy (crackers, bread, etc) and stay hydrated.
If you can handle it, try taking a little less of the hydrocodone. I've found that for me, there is a definite threshold. I'm fine until I hit that fine line and then it's all over!
You might also try using primarily Darvocet while you're awake and hydrocodone when you can sleep, that way you won't need to worry about the nausea.

If need be, take nightshade, its prescription form is called donnatal. If you can't get another prescription, I'd suggest eating bread, dry, with just a little bit of water. So the bread can absorb some of the acetaminophen that's just boiling in your tummy. Also, try taking slow deep breaths. Lay down if it gets too bad. And of course, if the medication is too strong, try splitting the pain killers in half, and take 1/2 dose every 2hours instead of 1 full dose every 4. I can understand the pain, and the need for this medication, but you will be in far worse shape if you begin to vomit because you cant handle the pain medication. I'd say, even if your only killing some of the pain with half a dose, its better than vomiting and having twice the pain and sorrow.
I hope you feel better sweetheart, get well soon!

Sounds like a migraine. You can try this, hope it helps. Lay down in a dark room and cover your eyes with a cloth or something to block all light out. Do relaxed breathing by breathing deep and exhaling slowly. Try to concentrate on the breathing until you feel your body relaxing. Another option is to take a warm bath and add pure lavendar oil. Not lavendar scented products but the pure oil. You can buy it at a pharmacy. I know you cant take other medications being pregnant so good luck with the home remedies. And Congrats on the baby.

Stop taking pain pills.
Drink beer instead - it works way better.
See a Chiropractor after you have your teeth fixed.
Taking pain pills does nothing.

Tell your doctor to switch you Vicotin or something else since codeine often does this. Ultrim is another drug he may prescribe.
Eat when you take the drug, if you choose to remain on it. That helps a bit.
