Toyota is having another recall?! Do you think people will just stop?

Buying from them and eventually go out of business? I found it pathetic that they literally JUST came out with a commercial that promised customers they will restore our faith in them and be even better in the future and 2 days later another recall for power steering problems this time!! What do you think?

Don't listen to the hyde and media. Every auto company has problems. No car model comes out of the assembly line 100% perfect. There's Always a % of defective cars. Same can be said with other products such as TVS, games, computers, etc etc. I wouldn't worry about power steering at the moment. There's no official recall. And even if there's a problem they'll fix it. Of course they want their reputation to be back to where it was. Power steering is a luxury. Back in the days, power steering didn't exist.

Hey Emily? Filing for chapter 11!! WTF!!

hey Jcool. I mean like hype and media as they'll bash every little bit of a company whenever they get a chance. and I do feel for the familes (Don't get me wrong) but they make it seem like everybody is going to crash and die. And because the company is closing plants doesn't mean it's going backrupt. They are downsizing. Bankrupt is the WHOLE company going down. Not just one or two plants. Dealerships are a total different thing since they operate on their own.

The Big 3 and the UAW LOVE ignorant people like you and YES I am surprised they recalled more cars. The truth? All 3 of those "Amurikan" auto manufacturers have had NUMEROUS recalls, numerous. Maybe you're forgetting about the Navigator's burning in people's garages or Chevy's side saddle gas tanks exploding on impact? THE FACT IS that most "Amurikan" cars are not really American. You see I'm old enough to remember the outcry over the Chevy Luv, they marketed it as an American truck but didn't tell the public IT WASN'T. I'll waste a little time on you in the hope that I can edjamakate ya a little- Chrysler owns Mitsubishi and puts Mitsubishi motors(made in Japan) and transmissions in MANY, many of their cars. In fact Chrysler has plants all over the world making "Amurikan" cars. Take a look at the Avenger...Maaaheeeko. Dodge Ram HD.....Maaaheeeko. I won't leave Chevy out either. You know that best selling Suburban/Yukon??....yep...Mahheeko. What about the Monte Carlo, an "Amurikan" car from conception right? Nope, Canananadadada,...Oshawa to be exact. GM owns Isuzu and exclusively puts THEIR diesel in GM trucks. Don't forget about SAAB. and finally your prefered "Amurikan" automaker...LOL!!! Where do I start?!!!?? Oh! the Crown Vic, that infamous police cruiser that was purchased with US tax dollars? Cananadadada. Ever hear of a Windsor 351? Why do you think they call it that? Windsor, Canada.(yeah, I know the 351 isn't in production but DO YOU REALLY THINK FORD IDLED THE PLANT?) Oh and 1 more; You know that "Amurikan" car that has set itself comfortably in the history books as an icon? THE MUSTANG? Guess what? 65% is US AND Canadian made. They have a little trouble telling us how much of each but just imagine that "Amurikan" car that is 35% FOREIGN. Ford did own Jaguar, Land Rover and USES MANY Mazda motors in their cars. In fact, the Ford Explorer and the Mazda equivilent ARE MADE SIDE BY SIDE. Yes, I know of MANY,MANY, MANY, MANY, MANY Toyotas that have gone 100k. I prefer Nissan but only because their designs promote mechanical service whereas "Amurikan" cars NEVER do. I truly hope you read what I have taken the time to type and do a little thinking on your own for a change.

EMILY Toyota did not file for Chapter 11.....GO BACK TO HIGH SCHOOL AND GET YOUR DIPLOMA.......WHERE'S YOUR SOURCE???

Yes what you say is true.....Toyota will suffer for at least 5-8 years after constantly making recalls....

Toyota came out with a commercial because they now have a solution to the gas pedal, they are insisting customers to come to dealers and have it fixed....

But look at the bright side, Toyota will make improvements in their vehicles. They will make alot of things standard such as Traction control

Power steering in the Corolla is minor....

I don't know if you know this that Chevy just made a recall about that as well....but their steering wheel literally fails....that is worse than the Corolla..... (Toyota Corolla is possible, but Chevy is a definite)

I know a lot of people who have had enough of Toyota.. Who wants the brand you drive and carry your loved ones in to be announcing one very serious recall after another coupled with consumer anecdotals highlighting issues the company really is not addressing. Acceleration issues across so many models and years,Prius brakes,Tacoma driveshafts,Tacoma rust and balljoints,Camry struts and now Corolla power steering issues that could lead to loss of vehicle control.. All this coupled with a policy of marked value engineering to further cut costs on parts for Toyota cars and the Toyota management allegedly not responding to complaints until real consumer, govt agency pressure is applied, and who needs Toyota.

melsred whats wrong with the media, are they not telling the truth? ask the families of the 34 realted deaths of toyotas in the past few years. Plus some dealerships are filing for chapter 11 not the whole company. And to answer the question, Toyota no matter how you look at it is falling hard and fast which gives other companies opportunity to pass them like Honda ford gm. Plus the corrola steering problem will be a recall. (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100217/ap_on_bi_ge/to...

Source(s): that's why I buy domestic. 98 Ford Explorer 210K miles and still going

It's getting harder and harder to defend Toyota with each passing day. More and more damning evidence, and defects, are emerging. Toyota's integrity is now fully in question.

when your the number one automaker in the world, your bound for screw up's.....all they were thinking was to just push as many cars out as fast as it can and now it bit em right in the a$$ ...only way ill buy a toyota is at a great discount which i see toyota doing in the future to bring back customers

I'm thinking about trading cars but there is no way I will look at a Toyota. They knew of a lot of these problems and chose not to do anything about them. Now their backs are against the wall so they are finely doing something.

They are in the process of filing for Chapter 11 right now, so yes, they are going out of business.

And, yes, I know what I'm talking about because I live in Kentucky where they have a Toyota Plant. Everyone is talking about how the plant is closing down... So no, I'm not just BSing.
