In PowerPoint with a projector, how do I have my notes show up on my screen but not in projection?

I sometimes use the notes section to put a little reminder on the pronunciation of a term and things like that which my audience might or might not care to see. Sometimes I also put in extra details that would just clutter up the slide and which I might decide on the fly to say or not.

If the video card on the computer will allow it, you go to Slide Show (pulldown menu in 2003, tab in 2007) --> Set Up Slide Show. On the right side where it says Multiple Monitors, click on Show Presenter View. You can not test this without having your computer hooked up to a second display.

You will most likely also have to go to your computer's display settings and change it to Extend my Windows Desktop onto this monitor .

PowerPoint actually has a very detailed help section on this. Search under Help for Presenter View - it takes you through setting it up, using it in slideshow, and the details of changing your display settings.

Edit: curiously the function does exist (see different answer), yet i might besides leave my unique submit right here besides. - i think of this selection may well be very functional. in certainty, some years in the past whilst i became into in severe college, i wanted to have this selection so badly, i in my view wrote the applying to do it myself. i finished up having to apply 2 computers that have been networked promptly jointly in this sort of way that the potential-element shows have been synchronized on the two computers, with one computer exhibiting a 'presentation' of my notes and the different exhibiting the somewhat presentation. I then configured a DVR distant to administration the presentation by way of a USB IR receiver related to the well-known computer.
