Spring training has officially begun! =D What are your hopes and dreams for your team this year? 2 BQs inside?

So the 2009-2010 offseason is now a thing of the past, as pitchers and catchers from various MLB teams reported to Arizona or Florida, to begin Spring Training. What are your hopes and dreams for your favorite team this season? Hopes and dreams aren't necessarily realistic, so if you're dreaming of going 162-0 this regular season, I wanna know about it! :)

BQ1- If you could go back in time and change 1 thing about your team's offseason, would you? What would you change?

BQ2- Who are you going to miss most at spring training this year? (like a player that your team didn't re-sign?)

Hope you enjoy! Thanks for answering!

Update:

@ reditz84- Yeah, the Padres got a good player with Jerry Hairston, Jr. He's one of the many faces that I'm gonna miss this year! =)

The first thing that comes to mind is winning the World Series. But, I also hope my favorite players have a good year. People like Jeter, Posada, and Mo.. they are all getting old. I know they can't play good forever, but I still want them to! I want them all to have great seasons and keep up their numbers.

BQ2- I don't think I'd change anything. I'm really happy with what we've done. I wish Damon would have resigned with us, but we didn't do any wrong on our part. He was asking for more than he's worth and I'd rather he not be signed with us at all than be signed for more than he's worth. I just wish he'd realized that he won't be near as productive with any other team.

BQ2- Hm.. I'll miss Matsui. Even though his knees are shot and I think the Yankees did the right thing by not resigning him, I'll miss him in pinstripes!

  • I just hope the Yanks don't be resting on their laurels & start getting lazy or have a let down especially players who won rings for the 1sr time like Sabathia, Rodriguez, Tex, Chamberlain are some examples.

BQ1- If you could go back in time and change 1 thing about your team's offseason, would you? What would you change?= Would have Damon or Matsui come back & not sign Nick Johnson.

BQ2- Who are you going to miss most at spring training this year? (like a player that your team didn't re-sign?)= Matsui most of all.

my team is the Padres and i hope that they have a better finish than last year and get closer to being back at the top of the NL West

BQ1: i would not change anything we got everything we need with a right-handed hitting outfielder(Scott Hairston), a versatile utility player(Jerry Hairston Jr.), a durable starting pitcher(Jon Garland), and a number two catcher(Yorvit Torrealba)

BQ2: The only player i will miss which we didn't have to worry about resigning but who we traded was Kevin Kouzmanoff who was starting to really become a great hitter and his defense kept improving and improving so hopefully Chase Headley can step it up and do what Kouzmanoff had been doing the past couple seasons

I'm hoping the Giants can make the playoffs this season. I don't care how they do it, whether it's winning the division or winning the Wild Card, get it done. Sure, it would be great if we won the division, but the Giants haven't made the playoffs in about 7 years...that needs to change.

BQ1: I would change the signing of Aubrey Huff. I don't like the move Brian Sabean made, but I'm going to have to live with it and hope for the best.

BQ2: Brad Penny. He pitched great for us in the 2nd half of the season and was a shame we couldn't sign him during the off-season.

My team is the D-Backs and my biggest hope for them this year, is Brandon Webb being back to form any contending for cy youngs again.

BQ1- I am very happy with what they did this off-season, between signing LaRoche and Kelly, and dropping that bum Eric Byrnes. I wish we would have done a little more with the bull pen though.

BQ2- I'm going to miss Max Scherzer and his blazing fastball and CRAZY eyes! seriously they are different colors. It's Awesome! Detroit got a promising young pitcher in him. Although I think he'd be better used as a closer, seing he has a hard time getting past 5 innings. Throws 25 pitches an inning consistenly.

My team is the Yankees. If A-Rod and Texiera contend for MVP, Hughes or Joba (one of them is going to get the fifth starter job) have really good years as starters, Mariano repeats last years performance, Montero continues to tear up the minor league's and spring training and proves he can stay at catcher, Sabathia contends for Cy Young, and the Yankees repeat as World Champions.

BQ1- In general I liked our offseason, I wouldn't have given anything more for Roy Halladay than what the Yankees offered (Montero straight up).

BQ2- I'm going to miss Hideki Matsui the most this year, that guy could hit.

I want my Red Sox to win the AL East and the World Series, leaving the Yankees trying to follow them throughout the entire season. I know you don't like that but it just sucks to fall under your rival team! Plus, the annoying Yankee fans (several bandwagoners) will shut up and quit rubbing their faces in the fact that the Yankees won the WS. I hate how they make it sound like they physically won it and not just a team they rooted for. I want my revenge >:)

    ...LOL :]

BQ1: I would never have signed Mike Cameron. I just wouldn't have. He will never do what Bay has done for us and Ellsbury did just fine in CF last season. I would have resigned Bay or resigned Baldelli and have had him switch off with Hermida in left.

BQ2: I miss Bay. He was the only way to get my little sister into baseball. When he was up to bat, we'd cheer "BAY-BAY-BAY-BAY-BAY!" on the top of our lungs. Without Bay, she's going to stay the super girly dancer "i-love-pink-and-makeup" 8 year old girl. *shudder* Okay! Anyway, I hope Bay does well with the Mets and I'm going to miss watching him play with the Sox.

    Royals:

I'll miss Mark Teahan. He did whatever was asked with decent skills and a professional attitude. That's more than be said from Guillen.

I am not comfortable signing Jason Kendall. I think the Royals could have gotten a better receiver for less money.

I really am hoping 2010 to be a repeat of '09! Last season was certainly one of the best, and it would be great if it carried over to this season!

BQ: I don't really think i'd change anything, to be honest.

    BQ2: Definitely Matsui!

I don't have many hopes, except that the Yankees repeat as World Series Champions.

BQ1: I would have resigned Damon so we have a definite left fielder, but I thought we had a good offseason.

BQ2: Hideki Matsui, he performed great for us
