Do you think San Antonio will ever be the home of an NFL team?
They already have a facility to play in, and another pro franchise there so...maybe?

I would support them getting a team over LA, football is big in every part of Texas and LA already had 3 NFL teams that all left.

It's a race against the clock, as the collective bargaining problems may result in the NFL not playing football for awhile after 2010. Moving franchises will be an afterthough after this happens.
For SA to get a team, another team has to be ready to move. The only candidate I see moving is Jacksonville, which had most of their home games blacked out despite contending for the playoffs. The good news there is the NFL would want to keep the team in the AFC South, so San Antonio could play against Houston for an instant rivalry, with Dallas as an NFC team to balance. Oklahoma City and Birmingham are other possibilities.
The Rams could move, but I suspect they might return to Los Angeles. LA would get an NFC team thanks to the Chargers, whom will stay put now that they are contenders every year.

San Antonio would be a great spot in which to place an NFL team. With a steady and strong economy and a sizable population (2 million+) with a rapid growth rate I don't see how San Antonio does not get an NFL team in the near future. Jerry Jones would come to accept the idea once it becomes inevitable. Which I believe it is. As was mentioned before there would be a natural rivalry between the Texans and a San Antonio team.

WOW! That's a lot of commentary to address. So I will simply address the AFC West since that is near and dear to my heart. CHARGERS - I can see them finishing 12-4 and a #2 seed the AFC. But that won't come easy with the schedule we have. Some of our tougher opponents include home games against Baltimore, Miami, Phillidelphia, and Washington. Then we have road games against Pittsburgh, Phillidelphia, Cleveland, Dallas, and Tennesee. So if we can finish the season at 12-4 then I don't think there is any stopping the Chargers this year. BRONCOS - I thought the Charger schedule look tough until I saw Denver's schedule. Games against Cincinnati, Cleveland, Oakland, Dallas, New England, and San Diego. And that's just in their first 6 weeks! Looking at the rest of their schedule (Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Washington, San Diego again, New York Giants, Indianapolis, and Phillidelphia) I think the Broncos would be LUCKY to finish their season at 6-10 or 7-9. Especially with a new quarterback and coaching staff. CHIEFS - Their schedule isn't quite as horrible as Denver, and with Matt Cassell as starting QB I think the Chiefs may surprise a few people this year. Dare I say they finish better than Denver with a 8-8 record or possibly 9-7? RAIDERS - Until the earth opens up to swallow Al Davis, don't expect anything more than a 5-11 record. But look at their schedule and show me a team they can beat! 5-11 might be a stretch!

I don't know if it will happen because Texas has the Cowboys, and the Texans
Jerry Jones would not want to see San Antonio have an NFL team.
I think San Antonio would make for a really great football city though. They have a solid stadium in the Alamodome and a pro-Football part of the country
If the Jaguars move I'd like to see them end up in San Antonio

The only way I see San Antonio would ever get an NFL Franchise is if the Economy Starts Picking up again and the NFL decides to expand from 32-teams to 40 and expand the schedule to accommodate.

they deserve one, San Antonio is in the Top 10 of the biggest cities in the U.S., since it is the second-largest city in America without an NFL team, after Los Angeles. Plus the State of Texas should have more than just 2 NFL teams since Football is like the State Sport of Texas, people say that Football is like Religion in Texas.

unless a franchise from another city decides to move...they cant make another team, because then they would have to make 1 more team for each conference.

nope not gunna happen ever, although i agree Oakland does not deserve a nfl team
