Ice maker inlet tube keeps icing up and clogging?

I have a GE refrigerator, freezer on top, model IM6 ice maker. My ice maker has started to freeze solid inside the tube that fills the ice tray. It will work for about 24 hours after I remove the tube and get the ice clog out, but it freezes up again. I've tried adjusting the temperatures and replacing the filter, but no luck. Any help? Thanks!

It sounds like the solenoid valve that feeds the icemaker may be leaking or look at insulating the line inside the freezer..

  • OK, your water valve on the fridge is leaking very slowly.

You should replace it. Takes about 10 minutes to do.
