What is hell? I mean really think about it.?
First off, let me start by saying.
I am not bashing on any religious groups or their beliefs, nor am I questioning them.
So if you are of faith, relax, Im not a hater. I am merely pondering something that is unclear to me and seemed interesting. I do not believe in the big bag theory, or darwinism, nor am I religious, personally doubt the existence of a higher being, the master creator, or God or whatever Your Deity may be. I believe into nether God or science.
I have my own theory which I don't feel like explaining atm. (Its long complex and confusing)
Anyway, I was thinking one day. What was there before hell? Seriously, think about it. Hell was created when Lucifer was cast down from heaven by God correct? This was also at the time,( or abit later im not sure of the time line) of Adam and Eve. So, if this is the way it was, then hell was empty before Lucifer fell down there? I mean, there were no other dead people to be down there at the time. So when Lucifer got there it must have been completely barren... except for maybe all the magma and fire and whatnot. So why did Luci make 7 circles of hell, or 9 by some sources. Why not ovals, or, stars, or squares or octagons lol? Also, even if he made the circles (or octagons) there was no one else to manage them anyway, or did he fall down there with other angels that stood with him at the time when he battled God? And even so, there were no human soles down there for them to torture anyways lol. Until Adam and Eve died at least...
Soooo yeah, if anyone has any ideas on what hell was at the time, and before the time, when Luci arrived. Feel free to post your ideas and comments. There is no right answer to this question, but that of you that peaks my interest the most will get a thumbs up :)
Thanks again (^)_(^)

HADES
NASB Concord. # 86- adhV, ou hadˆs; perh. from 1 (as a neg. pref.) and 7054 (1491a) (3708);Hades, the abode of departed spirits :-- Hades(10).
The Greek word "Hades" is translated into English as "Hades" 10 times in the New American Standard (NASB) and that is the ONLY way it is translated.
Matt 11:23 (NASB) "And you, Capernaum, will not be exalted to heaven, will you? You shall descend to Hades; for if the miracles had occurred in Sodom which occurred in you, it would have remained to this day.
Matt 16:18 "And I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades shall not overpower it.
Luke 10:15 "And you, Capernaum, will not be exalted to heaven, will you? You will be brought down to Hades!
Luke 16:22 "Now it came about that the poor man died and he was carried away by the angels to Abraham's bosom; and the rich man also died and was buried. 23 "And in Hades he lifted up his eyes, being in torment, and saw Abraham far away, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 "And he cried out and said, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool off my tongue; for I am in agony in this flame.' 25 "But Abraham said, 'Child, remember that during your life you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus bad things; but now he is being comforted here, and you are in agony. 26 'And besides all this, between us and you there is a great chasm fixed, in order that those who wish to come over from here to you may not be able, and [that] none may cross over from there to us.'
Acts 2:27 Because Thou wilt not abandon my soul to Hades, Nor allow Thy Holy One to undergo decay.
Acts 2:31 he looked ahead and spoke of the resurrection of the Christ, that He was neither abandoned to Hades, nor did His flesh suffer decay.
Reve 1:18 and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.
Reve 6:8 And I looked, and behold, an ashen horse; and he who sat on it had the name Death; and Hades was following with him. And authority was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword and with famine and with pestilence and by the wild beasts of the earth.
Reve 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one [of them] according to their deeds.
14 And death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.
From this little study of the Greek word, Hades, we learn this:
Hades is down (Luke 10:15)
Those in Hades are being tormented (Luke 16:23) in flames (vs 24.)
All dead do not go to Hades. Some go to "Abraham's Bosom."
(Luke 16:22, 25)
Once you are dead, there is nothing you can do about about your whereabouts. (Luke 16:26)
The soul (the conscious part of us) is what goes to Hades. (Acts 2:27.)
Jesus (who was dead but is now alive forever) has the keys of Hades. (Rev 1:18.)
The dead who are in Hades, will one day come out to be judged. (Rev 20:13)
Hades will be thrown into the lake of fire (Rev 20:14.)

Before there was hell, there was nothing! ... There was no NEED FOR HELL....Before God cast Satan into hell, it did not exist!
Satan was the most Beautiful of all the angels...
The bible is very clear as to where Satan came from. His evil nature started before the garden of Eden and is more rampant today for he knows his time is short.(Rev.20:1-3) As stated below in Isaiah 14:12, his name was Lucifer. He was the highest of the archangels and as Ezekiel 28:12 states, he was Gods main one.. There is no reason to go into an in-depth study and list all the scriptures that pertain to Satan's down fall. Anyone with the least of intelligence can get the bible and a concordance and see for themselves.
Isaiah 14:12 -15 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
Satan is so full of pride, Hate and revenge he is going to do anything he can to get mankind to rebel against Holy God. As we see in Isaiah above, Satan wanted to be better then God. He still thinks he will win and those of you who are following him are doomed to the same fate....... A burning hell.
Satan wants all to join him in hell.. to hurt God!!
However, (John 3:16) says, For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
The belief that Satan is in Hell is a product of cartoons and movies, (GOING to be so much worse than this), rather than the reality portrayed in the Bible. The Bible states that he still roams heaven and earth. Job 1:6 states that Satan appeared with other angels "before the Lord." Presumably in heaven. When God asked Satan where he had been, Satan replied, "From roaming through the earth and going back and forth in it." Satan has not been and is not in Hell. 1 Peter 5:8 declares, "Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour."
It is clear from passages that Satan is not in Hell and probably spends most of his time on earth, seeking to destroy the lives of human beings and to keep them separated from God.
Revelation 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

The churches teaches that hell is a burning place with fire, and this is taught through out the world. But the bible is not really teaching that there is a firing place for people. God is teaching that hell is being in the grave. The bible says, jesus was in hell for 3 days, he was in the grave. You can learn all about this from Family radio and ebible fellowship. Hell is not a fire of burning people. God is too merciful to send people to hell and let them stay there for eternity. He is too loving and has too much compassion. Hell is the grave. Look into these website, I hope they explain what you are seeking to you.

And if there was a Hell of torture, etc. What is it that is experiencing the pain? Have the deceased bodies regained life and left the grave? Did the cremated figure an "out"?

I personally don't believe there is a Hell.
I think the circles are probably symbolic of a never ending cycle. Such as the "circle of life" is believed to be. I think it could just as easily been called triangles or whatever but a circle never ends, it goes round and round.

Hell is outer darkness , separation from God
It is torment, where one has no control, they can do nothing see nothing, change nothing,be nothing but are conscience of the nothing (darkness) its hopelessness , helplessness, ever wanting and crying and yelling and screaming to know avail .
Total darkness, Total separation from Life and the One who gives life, light, joy, peace, happiness, security, assurance ,Faith , Hope, love, control, change, sight,Our God !!

It's a Walter Mitty-style paranoid revenge fantasy -- a way for bitter and frustrated Christians can pretend that all the people who have ever "done them wrong" will get their comeuppance. Just watch the perverse glee with which Christians imagine how all the people who ever laughed at them will be groveling at their feet by proxy, begging for forgiveness.

I asked mum about this when I was VERY young and she said...
Heaven and hell are the same place... we're all sitting at long tables with plenty of food and we all have splints on our elbows so we can't bend them.
The people in 'hell' try to feed themselves and can't...
The people in 'heaven' feed each other.
I still think it's a much nicer story than the one bandied about by xians.
It's about a state of mind rather than reward and punishment.
