can someone on unemployment benefits join the NAVY?

Update:

i'm not on it right now. But i'm afraid i'm going to have to be. I just want to join the navy and ship out.

    Yes. However, you're unemployment will end. You wouldn't need it if you were in the Navy anyway..

    Yes, but the first day you go you will be considered working and not eligible for benefits as you are getting paid by the Navy.

    Sure. Of course the benefits will stop when you ship to boot camp.

    Yes...why not. You would no longer be unemployed...
