Feeling very overwhelmed...?

Okay I want to enroll in University of cosmetology arts and sciences. I've been wanting to enroll there for a loooooooong time now.

Well my dad hates that i want to go there. He's been pushing me to go to medical school to become an RN like him and my sister.

I don't like the medical field, i hate it, i don't want to be anythiing in the medical field. My sister was in a private university for 2 yrs for the medical field and it was 20,000$.

The cosmetology school that i want to go to is 17,500$. The financial advisor said with my dad's income, i dont qualify for financial aid at all.

I asked my boyfriend's parents to claim me, like if i'm living there, and I'll use their income from 2008, and i could qualify for financial aid. I already saved some websites that had cosm. scholarships.

I feel so overwhelmed. My dad says he won't help me at all, if I enroll there. I really really want to be a cosmetologist. The school i want to enroll to is one of the top schools in my state.

my bf said he will help me if i have to pay for it all. but its so much.

Just the cost is so overwhelming. With financial aid, i'll have to pay for it still.

My dad wants to talk to me tomorrow, but i know he will get soooooo pissed off at me for wanting to go to that school instead of what he wants.

How can I calm myself downand not feel so overwhelmed? My mother says my dad sh

ould at least pay for half cuz he paid my sister for her school. but ehh idk. my dad is hard headed.

and do you know any other websites that offer cosm. scholarships other than fast web??

thanks <3

If you are old enough to attend college, move out, get a job and then apply for financial aid based upon YOUR income as a single adult. Then you should be eligible for financial aid on your own. If you have no desire to become a nurse, then don't go into that profession. The medical field isn't for everyone and if you have other aims in life, you should pursue them.

Don't depend upon your father to pay for your choice. He has made it clear that he will only pay for your to go to medical school so unless he does a radical turn around, you will receive no financial help for cosmetology school.

Also, DO NOT depend upon your boyfriend OR his family for help! That could be considered FRAUD and is punishable by law. Plus, if you break up with the boyfriend, that would make the money issue that much more complex.

Get out on your own. Plenty of single gals do it for themselves and you can too! Sure, it may be hard, but then when you graduate you can really be proud that you did it for yourself.

    God bless.

If you go with your bf's family for financial aid, and you get caught you will be prosecuted for fraud. How about taking a year off, work in a salon or where ever you can apply for until you can aaply for financial aid yourself, then you definetly would qualify.

as for your dad, hes probably upset because people in the medical field make more money than those in the beauty field. But who knows, maybe youll become a makeup stylist for a pop star and be set for like. But anyways, back to reality, take matters in your own hands, you can't depend on others to help you in life. If daddy can't agree to your happiness then to heck with him!

Tell him to help you pay for half of your schooling. He did for your sister he should help you with yours. It doesn't matter what you do or what you like, you should get help from him, come on. It's not fair he helped her because she did what he wanted and you don't get help because you happen to be different?? and like different things?? not fair. Tell him he has to help you because his income is so high you won't get any financial help. LOL. It might help.
