    I was at AWANA last night (see www.awana.org ) and we also had "prayer service", but nothing about ASH WEDNESDAY. I think that's a Catholic thing, not other main stream denominations.

    I went to one at a Lutheran church. Not my church, but I was helping serve the meal with my friend

    They did the ashes on the forehead

    Real Christians don't celebrate ash wed by putting ashes on their foreheads for repentence. CHRIST became our one and only sacrifice. We repent to HIM.
